Chapter Five

1st person pov

"Me again. Um, may I present.." Anna takes Hans' hand and brings him next to her. "Prince Hans of the Southern Isles." Hans bows, "Your Majesty." They both start laughing and talking at the same time. Me and Eli look at them both in confusion. They both start talking again, "We would like..." Hans continues,"Uh... Your blessing..." They both say at the same time, "Of... Our marriage!" Me and Eli look at both of them in shock. "What? Didn't you just meet him, Anna?" I ask in confusion. "Marriage? I'm sorry, I'm confused" Eli says not understanding what's going on. "Well, We haven't worked out all the details ourselves. We'll need a few days to plan the ceremony. Of course, we'll have soup, roast, and ice cream. And then..." Anna pauses as she turns to Hans. "Wait. Would we live here?" Anna asks him.

"Here?" Me and Eli ask her at the same time. Eli and Anna keep talking as I watch in silence. "You can't marry a man you just met" Eli points out. "You can if it's true love!" Anna tries to argue. "What do you know about true love?" Eli asks her as he starts to get upset. "More than you. All you know how to do is shut people out!" Anna yells, and my mouth drops open in shock. "Anna that was uncalled for..." I say as my voice falters slightly. Eli takes deep breaths to keep himself calm. "You asked for my blessing but my answer is no," He says as he begins to walk away.

"The party is over. Close the gates" Eli tells a guard. "What?" Anna says then starts to go after him. "Anna, wait!" I try to stop her from running after him but I missed her wrist and ended up tripping over my legs. "Ow..." I groan as I sit up. "That looked like it hurt. Here let me help you" I look up to meet Han's eyes. I grab his hand that he held out, "Thanks."

Anna grabs Eli's hand and as he turns she pulls off his glove. "Anna, give me my glove!" Eli says as he tries to grab it back but Anna steps back. "Eli, please! Please! I can't live like this anymore" Anna tells him. "Then leave," Eli tells her as he rubs his arms as he is frightened. "Eli... Eli!" I say as I try to catch up to him. "Stay away Y/n! I don't want to hurt you!" Eli yells out and I stop in my tracks. "Please, Eli! I can help!" I say as tears threaten to spill.

"What did I ever do to you?!" Anna yells at Eli as he continues to walk away. "Enough, Anna." Anna begins to ask questions. "No! Why? Why do you shut me out? Why do you shut the world out? What are you so afraid of?!" Anna, you're pushing him too much...

"I said, enough!" Eli yells out as he turns around and ice shoots out of his hand that turns into spikes and scares the guests as they back away. "Sorcery. I knew there was something dubious going on here" Says the Duke of Weasa- I mean Weslton as he hides behind his henchmen. Eli has a look of pure terror on his face and runs out of the building.

"Eli!" I yell as I begin to run after him. The Duke comes rushing after as I make my way down the stairs. "There he is! Stop him!" The Duke orders. "Please, just stay away from me! Stay away!" Eli says as ice shoots out of his hand freezing the ground where the Duke was standing. "Monster! Monster!" The Duke yells as he points an accusing finger at him. "He's not a monster!" I yell as I turn to look at the Duke and end up tripping over my feet.

"Eli!" Anna yells as she rushes after him. Eli runs to the lake and hesitates for a second then begins to run away. "Eli..." I say as I begin to cry and put my head back down on the ground. "Wait, please!" Anna begged as she got to the lake but slipped. It begins to snow and everyone looks around. I get up and go over to Anna and Hans. "Are you both alright?" Hans asks. "No" Anna replies why I just nod my head. "Did you know?" Hans asks. "No," Anna says and shakes her head. "I did..." I say as I look at the ground.

"You knew?! For how long?" Anna asks me. "Since I was brought here," I say as I refuse to make eye contact.
