This ship right here.

I feel like since many of the Beyburst audience is young, they can't really grasp the symbolism that just DEFINES this ship. No offense of course. Tbh even I didn't give the Beyburst writers enough credit when watching for the first time.

Fubuki's colour scheme is a very light, calming green. Suoh's colour scheme is a dark, foreboding pink.

See how each of the adjectives mirror one another?

When I first watched Cho-Z, Fubuki's and Suoh's aura struck me as very contrasting, for these reasons alone. Every single thing is so... Detailed (light/dark, calming/foreboding are literal opposites) and it's honestly quite fascinating.

Green and pink are also opposite of each other on the colour wheel.

.........Yeah.

Tbh this is the epitome of "opposites attract".

I haven't watched a lot of anime but I've never seen a dynamic in which two characters are symbolically AND realistically opposite of each other, yet they manage to have quite a smooth relationship which does not feel forced.

Man, Beyburst writers really should be given a lot of credit purely for such fascinating symbolism.

Coming back to the point.

Suoh's bit beast is a salamander, which is an amphibian (able to live on both land and water) while Forneus is a shark, able to live only in water.

This is seriously such an interesting detail because Hell Salamander is a Balance type bey (with two main modes) while Emperor Forneus is a Defense type which has only one mode.

Like, DAMN BOI.

Suoh has two sides and Fubuki has only one.

See what I mean????

Also, Suoh's element is fire and Fubuki's is water. Classic water vs fire.

It also took me quite a long time to realise that Suoh's and Fubuki's behavioral patterns also related to this.

Suoh as we first see is pleasant, calm and eloquent. But then he goes all envious and develops another side to his personality, one which is crude and dark and furious.

Suoh is two faced, if you will.

Fubuki on the other hand is a very genuine person. He might be calm and collected but he doesn't hide his real emotions from anyone. If he has a problem, he'll say it. He's not gonna hide behind a mask of pleasantries like Suoh does.

So one of them is two faced and the other is genuine. Again, opposites. I did say at the start that they are as opposite as possible, didn't I? ;)

Now, let's focus on Suoh's and Fubuki's character themes (or niches, or whatever)

Suoh is of the mentality that talent is necessary for winning. "Hard work can only get you so far, if you're not meant to be something then it's useless to try to change yourself" is what he's all about.

(Which is actually really similar to Neji's fate bullshit- I mean, theme- from Naruto, but let's not go there.)

Fubuki is the exact opposite of Suoh. He believes that to be a good blader, you must work hard and push yourself to your limits, even if you're not particularly talented.

Their themes, personalities, everything is opposite of one another.

And yet, their relationship actually feels natural.
