Chapter 3: We're opposite

It's been almost 3 years already since Liam and his mother moved in to work for and live with the Kims. His mom has also been saving up because they can't stay and depend on the Kims forever even though they work for them. They're planning to move out and look for a place to stay. Liam has also been secretly doing some labour work at some places without no one knowing to save some money for his studies. He's now in his last trimester of grade 11 which is the same as Jennie, so in less than two years, he'll start his tertiary education. Even though there's no doubt that he'll get a scholarship because of his high grades, he still needs to save up for other expenses apart from tuition fees, that's why he needs to do some hard work.

Jennie's POV

I hate it. I hate him...no that might be a strong word, but I don't like him. I'm annoyed when I see his face and his annoying smiles despite my bitchy attitudes. I'm annoyed when my parents keep talking about him, comparing us, and wanting me to be like him. I hate it. Yes...you heard it right my parents want me to be like that monkey because we're totally opposite.

Whenever I can spend time with my parents, they're always talking about Liam this Liam that...you should be like him and this and that. Seriously...they must be hypnotized by that monkey. And why the hell should I be like him? Aren't they working their asses off most of the time until they almost have no time for me in order to secure my future? Aren't we rich now? So why would I care about my studies that much? Pfff...my future is already secure. I won't be poor. And of course, that monkey needs to study and work hard because he's poor, so whether he wants or not...he has no choice. Also, how can he party all the time with his friends like me when he doesn't have money? My parents should've thought of that before they compare me to him🙄🙄🙄

And talking about that monkey, I really can't with him. Urggghhh😤....he keeps smiling and talking to me though most of the time I ignore him. What annoys me the most is his nickname for me. Aishhh....Nini...really? Am I a pet to him🙄? We're not even close and he dares to give me a nickname😕. Also, that strange feeling is still there whenever he's around. I don't understand why and that makes me annoyed as well. And there he is...the annoying monkey

"Goodmorning Nini......oh you won't be late for school today since you're up early" The monkey greeted me with his annoying smile and acted surprised because I got up early this morning. Urrggghh...I want to punch his face. I didn't bother to greet back and just rolled my eyes at him before getting in the car going to school.

At Seoul International School (Jennie's school)

As soon as I arrived, I spotted my squad (Chahee, Nancy, Joy, Sana, and Mark) at our usual hang-out spot. We're the rich and famous squad in this school, and yes I love it when people are drooling over us, admiring us, and chasing after us. Right...I love the attention because that's what I lack at home. (Note: Marky is gay here....sorry not sorry...this is just for the sake of the story, mates🤭)

"Oh the savage Queen is here" My squad greeted when they noticed me

"Hey...guys" I greeted back and smiled. Well...they are the only ones I normally interacted with apart from Jisoo unnie in school. Jisoo unnie is in her last year at high school now, and she'll soon graduate.

"I heard there will be a big sport competition organized by our school next month and there will be athletes from different schools, will you guys come and see?" Sana asked

"Wow...really? How many sport competitions?" Mark asked sounding interested

"As far as I know there will be football matches, basketball, Taekwondo, and swimming competitions." Sana replied. I saw Mark licked his lips. I know what that horny gay is thinking...hot guys🙄🙄🙄

"I don't know about you girls, but I'll be in the front row on that day. I can't wait to see the swimming competition🤩" He said dreamingly....see???😪

Since we'll have nothing to do on that day, so why not watch the competitions? So we agreed to come together.

Liam's POV

I'm now at the construction site getting some part-time work to earn some money. No one knows about this...mom will be mad if she knows. That's why I lied to her about having extra swimming practice. It is tiring to be honest...but who am I to cmplain.That's my life. No pain no gain....and again as positive as I am...think of this hard work as some free work-out sessions Lol not bad at all right?

"Here...have some energy drink, kid. You've been working hard. Don't be too hard on yourself!" The supervisor uncle threw me an energy drink. He's been really nice to me. He's the one who allowed me to do this part-time job. I considered myself lucky cuz I often meet nice and helpful people.

"Thank you so much, unlce" I thanked him and smiled brightly despite my exhaustion.

I'm done with my part-time job now. I really want to go home and lay in my bed, but sadly I still have my swimming practice at school for the competition next month.

——-At YG College——

It's almost 6pm in the evening, so the school is kinda quiet which is nice. I'm on my way to the pool when I received a text message from Chichu noona. Yes....Jennie's only cousin who's obsessed with chicken. We're close with each other now. She's talkative and friendly, and I'm kinda like that too, so as soon as we got to know each other, we clicked. She can be annoying sometimes tho...but I still like her....as a sister hehehe I know Jisoo is gay. I meant everyone knows LMAO and I already have my future wife...my Nini. Jennie must think I'm an idiot because I always ignore her bitchy attitudes towards me and keep being smiley and nice towards her instead and I know she's kinda annoyed which is cute though. Well...when you love someone...you open up your heart and accept both their perfections and imperfections (I love the song Lol).
