Dream had been staring through the shop window for well over ten minutes now. Some people were bound to find it weird, but Dream couldn't focus on what other people thought of him right now.

Only one person's opinion seemed to matter, and he was inside the very store Dream's attention was focussed on. He just needed an excuse to enter it still.Unlucky for him, he didn't get much time to think of one, as the boy behind the register turned to look out the window and meet eyes with him instantly. Caught in the act. Dream quickly made a move to enter the shop, looking around a little bit at all the different types of plants he didn't know the names of. They were everywhere, on the ground, by the walls, even hanging from the ceiling, turning the inside of the store into a big jungle.

"Hi, can I help you?" the boy said as he left his position behind the register, walking up to Dream a little bit. Dream only now found out what he sounded like, and he couldn't say he didn't immediately swoon over his British accent."Oh, yeah, I'm looking for.. ehm.. a plant?" Dream said hesitantly as his eyes met the boy's once again, who were now squinting with his smile."That's kind of the only thing we sell," the boy laughed, and Dream internally facepalmed at his own stupidity. He wished for a big carnivorous plant to swallow him whole right now."Yes! So I'm at the right place," he laughed back, trying to save himself from more embarrassment.

He looked over the boy's shirt and noticed his little nameplate. 'George'."Are you looking for anything specific?" the boy now asked, his laugh fading back into a friendly smile, which made Dream's heart melt right away. This boy was so damn cute."I don't know that much about plants, so I just kinda want something that won't die on me too easily," Dream quickly made up, never having had any interest in buying a plant in the first place, but he would if it meant he could talk to George a little longer."That's a great place to start," the boy answered, turning around to look at some plants in thought.

Dream noticed the dark green apron tied around his waist. It complemented his brown hair nicely.

He then walked forward and grabbed a plant with medium sized leaves coming from one big stem and two side stems growing out of the big one. He turned around and showed it to Dream, who tilted his head to the side slightly as he studied it."This is a Clusia, it adapts to any kind of circumstances pretty well. Just don't put it in direct sunlight, and water it when the earth is dry," he explained, and Dream took it out of his hands to study it a little bit better."How do I know when the earth is dry?" he asked as he lifted it a little higher, looking at the bottom side of the leaves."Just poke your finger in," the boy answered, making Dream pull a face. Poke your finger in the dirt?

Yuck. His face made the boy laugh and shake his head slightly as he realized how little the other man actually seemed to know about plants."I like the way this one looks, yeah," Dream said in conclusion, heading to the register with the boy following. He tapped something on the screen and Dream paid quickly, already dreading his departure from the store.

"And it won't die on me within a week?" Dream asked again, wrapping his arm around the plant pot to hold it to himself."Positive," George smiled, studying the other man's green eyes, which were complimented so well by all the green surrounding him."What do I get if it does?" Dream then decided to ask, needing to be a little bolder if he wanted to leave the store with what he actually wanted. Which wasn't, in fact, a plant."Come back if it does, and I'll give you a refund," George laughed at the man in front of him, who was smiling widely at their exchange."What if you're not working?" Dream questioned him, mischief in his eyes. George tapped his chin in pretend thought, already knowing very well what the other was implying."Hmm.. I don't know, come back another day?" he said teasingly, making the other laugh softly."I could also, maybe, text you?" Dream said hesitantly, not sure what the other's reaction to that would be.

He felt relief wash over him as he saw George smile and nod."Yeah, I guess that may be a better idea," he said, his voice a little giggly.

Dream quickly pulled out his phone from his back pocket and clicked to add a new contact, handing his phone over to George. He started typing out his number, his tongue sticking out of the corner of his mouth in focus, as Dream watched and felt his heart turn into a puddle. He already couldn't wait to send him a text."So who should I not be expecting a text from any time soon?" he giggled as he handed Dream back his phone, who clutched it with his free hand."Right! Yes, ehm, my name is Dream," he answered with a smile, putting away his phone again."Nice to meet you, Dream," George said sweetly, and the two kept eye contact for little longer, before the bell at the door signified another customer entering the shop."Thanks for the help, I'll see you around," Dream said, which earned him a simple nod from George.

As he left the store, the smile on his face grew bigger, looking at the plant in his arm. He finally did it.

George looked away from the tv as he heard the notification sound coming from his phone, which was laying beside him on the couch. He reached out his arm from under the blanket he was snuggling, and smiled at the message preview on the screen. He quickly went to his messaging app, a text from an unknown number at the top of the list of chats.'My cat knocked over my plant, does this count as dying?' the message read, with a photo attached of the Clusia he had sold earlier that day on the ground, out of its pot, with a guilty looking cat sitting next to it.

George quickly starting typing his response.'I think it's salvageable, but I'll pretend this was a good reason to text me' George sent back, and his smile couldn't possibly get any brighter as he added the unknown number to his contacts as 'Dream', with a little plant emoji behind his name.
