"Come on in."
Tendou seemed reluctant when he followed you into the entrance hall where he took of his shoes.
"Do you want slippers?" You asked and he shook his head.
"I always walk around on my socks." He said absentmindedly and you decided to not poke fun of him as he seemed a bit out of sorts.
"The living room and kitchen are to the right, the toilet is straight ahead." You told him hurriedly and walked toward the staircase. "I'm going to get my backpack real quick, make yourself at home in the living room."
Before you could leave he called your name though, making you stop in your tracks.
"Are your parents there?" He asked you, his eyes darting from you to the living room door and back.
You couldn't hold back a snort. "No, they're at work. As usual."
He finally turned to open the door and you dashed upstairs as fast as you could, not wanting to leave him on his own for too long.
When you returned with your textbooks he had taken a seat on the big, blue couch and seemed to be scanning the room for points of interest.
"I love the hoodie, looks good on you." You told him and watched as he snapped his head in your direction as if you had just caught him doing something illegal.
"Thanks..." He muttered and got up when you dumped your books on the dining table, which stood against the counter of the open kitchen.
You sat down on one of the chairs and pulled out the one next to you for Tendou to sit on.
"So, any thoughts on how we should tackle this? I was thinking we look for the most boring looking country on the entire globe and then make the most interesting report on it." You suggested and saw his face contort.
"You weren't kidding when you proposed that studying competition before, were you?" He asked you and you couldn't but grin sheepishly.
"It's nerdy, isn't it? The thing is, I'm going to be studying my butt off one way or the other, so I might as well try to find ways to make it fun, right?" You explained to him and watched a pensive look settle on his face.
"I suppose you could look at it like that. Let's do it your way then." He agreed and both of you started browsing through your textbook for inspiration.
About an hour later you came to an agreement about the most boring country in the world: Belgium.
"I mean the most exciting thing about them is their messed up politics. Politics." You drove the point home once more.
"If politics is the most interesting thing about you, you are pretty lame indeed." Tendou agreed.
You went on for ten more minutes taking turns insulting Belgium before you shot a glance at the clock and noticed it was time for lunch.
"Would you like to go get something to eat? We don't have anything in the house, as usual." You suggested, already getting up. "There's a konbini on the corner."
"Sure." Tendou shrugged as he also got up from his seat.
You had already made it outside of the gate when you slapped your forehead rather hard, making Tendou turn to see what was going on all of a sudden.
"This always happens! Hold on, I'll be right back." You said before barging back into the house. Not much later you stormed back out, holding your wallet out for him to see. "I constantly forget my wallet when I go to the store."
