Music. Along and awaiting the departure of the empty train she sat riding, Abi sat toying with her long disheveled locks of royal purple hair.
Her mind swirled and wandered as she lacked anything to do on her trip home from a quick job on her parents behalf.*click*
Sudden noise snapped her out of a dazed state and into reality and looking up she just saw a young boy ,who could be mistaken for adult if it weren't for his posture and the way he looked after himself, sit down in the seat across from her. Unruly auburn strands stuck out all over the place and some framed his hazel brown eyes. Nothing seemed important about him so Abi just went back to her state of dissociation.
"H-hey miss do you mind if I ask you something? It may sound dumb but I'm serious." The boy was definitely Abis age from his voice and Abi looked at him with her single visible eye and he felt shivers down his spine as he got the feeling of two daggers going into him from Abis piercing blue eyes that shined and almost glowed in the sunlight.
"What is it kid? If it is dumb I'll still answer." Abi replied with authority in her normally quiet and unthreatening voice. She kept her gaze on the kid and placed a gloved hand on a fedora that teetered on her head and was seemingly held in place by something just out of sight.
"Do you see me? Like all of me? Thing above my head and all?" His voice seemed nervous and skakey which made Abi feel a little confident that he wasn't some delinquent or trickster. Abi glanced to the top of his head and held back a gasp. Atop the kids head sat a glowing golden halo and on his back were a faint pair of wings constructed of light and feathers.
"A-angel? No just a prank." Abi thought then hardened her gaze into the boys soft eyes. She could see herself in his eyes and she saw her confidence which gave her an even bigger boost of self selfesteem.
"Kid don't humor me with that costume oh yours. It's funny but I prefer to have peaceful train rides." She sternly stated and then looked back into nothingness and began to twirl a long strand of hair that had fallen over her blue eye. The kid looked relieved and worried.
"T-thos isn't a costume it just appeared above me and no one can see it but me and you it seems." He stood.up and approached Abi from where he had sat down and then sat beside her. Abi just sat as still as stone while anxiety crawled up her back and small whispers entered her ears of the different scenarios that could play out badly.
"M-miss. You look pale are you okay?"
His young still slightly high voice broke her from the looming fear that had ensnared her mind. She quickly shook her head and breathed rhythmically to calm down.
"No no kid. I'm fine just your change in seat gave me a bit of a surprise." She chuckled. Why call him kid when he was a similar agent her? She had already asked herself that question and knew she was doing it for the feeling of authority.
"So that ain't a disguise and you genuinely have a halo and wings like an angel?" Abi stared at him again and used her single uncovered eye to make sure he wouldn't lie.
"No disguise. It just appeared when I woke up. And these," he motioned to his slightly more visible wings, "these have been developing or something all day. No one sees them though." Abi understood why she saw them but had to get the two of them somewhere more private so she could freely explain. But she was puzzled how to without revealing herself.
