-girl and boy become friends through (?)
-he has a sad outlook on life but we don't know why yet
-despite loosing so many people in her life (mom, younger sister in car accident), she chooses to live every day seeing the best in life and everyone
->you can't live your life looking in the past or wishing for things you don't have
->you have to live in the moment and appreciate what you do have
-eventually, we come to realize he has a terminal illness (that's why he's so depressed and angry at the world)
->however he could be given more time with a transplant but he's too far down on the waiting list
-through some disaster, she gets hurt enough to be able to give him the transplant (like a heart or something vital)
-sad ending (obviously) where she is dead and he lives every day for her; seeing the good in the world
