Chapter 5

Back in the pony world, Luna and Celestia turned back into themselves when they flew back to Canterlot.

"Whew, thank goodness that we got out of there without a singing moment," Luna and Celestia said together.

"*laughing* Luna, you are the best sister I've ever knew," the princess of the Sun said. Astelle watched them in anger, she screamed so loud that even Ponyville could hear it. But Shadow was in his own cell and he could hear her screams from a mile away.

"*sigh* Luna, I am so, so, sorry. I-I wish I could make it up to you. I also wish that I could be there with your sister," the pony said before he started crying. Then, just before you could say 'song moment', that moment happened. Luna started singing to Shadow, and he could hear it from his holding cell.

[Verse I]

Fate has been cruel and order unkind

How could I have pushed you away?

Those words were my own, the punishment yours

The night has been silenced today.

But into that cell I'll sing you a song.

With my voice your company keep.

With your weary eyes and my lullabies

Once was a pony who glowed like the moon, look out on the kingdom and sigh

She smiled and said, "Surely there is no-pony, who loves me and so well-beloved as I?"

So great was the pain, and so brilliant her sister, that long that the shadow she cast.

Which fell dark upon the only brother she loved and grew only darker as days went on by.

Lullay dear Shadow, goodnight brother mine, rest now in the moonlight's embrace.

Bear up my lullaby, spirits of the Earth

Through Ponyville, the forest, and the cell.

Carry the peace and the coolness of night

And carry my sorrow in kind

Shadow, you're loved so much more than you know

Forget Astelle one last time....

Soon did the pony take notice that others did not give her brother his due

And neither had she didn't love him as he deserved,

She watched as her brother's darkness inside him grew....

But such was the way of the limelight, he decided

To see how far the evil would go

And that beloved pony did nothing to stop

The destruction of the one who was cared for the most
