Sleepless Night

"What now? You've angered me enough, Iris, I thought we were friends. Oh how I was wrong." I grumbled when I saw Iris burst into my bedroom carriage.

One glance at her eyes and I saw the darkest anger deep in her wicked, green eyes. "The second D1 bedroom is bloody, Florida said I could share with you, since we knew eachother. Not like I'd like to share with YOU." She put mad emphasis on 'YOU'.

"Hey, hey, hey. There are rules in here. No killing me. And no killing you. Deal?" I glared right at her.
"That'll be one of the hardest rules I'll ever have to follow." Iris snorted.
"I'm serious. I'll kick you out if I have to." I continued tucking myself in bed. "And turn the lights out when you're done."
I heard shuffling of feet across the room and Iris muttering curse word to herself. After what seemed like an eternity, I herd Iris spread the crisp, spare blanket on the ground and she fell into a deep doze. I realised that I hadn't fallen asleep yet, and when I tried my best to snuggle in and sleep, I only found my mind wandering right back to the thought of my ex best friend attempting to kill me slowly with a sharp dagger...
I shook my head clear of my thoughts and decided to have another shower, just to clear my mind a bit.
The water felt cool and refreshing on my skin and the soap was slippery and, well, soapy! Ifinished my rinse off and dried off with a fluffy towel and studied myself in the floor length mirror. I saw the changes that occurred to me ever since I entered the games. My chocolatey brown hair was slightly longer and wavier than it usually was, my stomach was slightly plumper, due to delicious and fulfilling meals every day, and most of all, my expression was more sour and bitter, in contrary to the soft and sweet smile I usually had on before the games. I gave myself that very sweet smile for a very short moment and resumed my sour look when I slipped on some simple clothes-a plain white t-shirt, a pair of long grey yoga pants and a blue knitted vest.

The moment I walked out I saw Iris slumped next to her bed and wimpering over a paper or some picture. "Mom... I will win for you." She whispered. After that, she sent a deadly glare over her shoulder, to peer into my bed, which I assumed she thought I was in, and grabbed a dagger from her sachel. "Goodbye, Thea, and hope you go to hell."

I let out a sarcastic laugh from the door of the bathroom. "I thought I made it clear that tere is no killing allowed in this bedroom! You really deserve to die, jerkface."

She snaps her head at me. "W-what are you doing up so early?" Iris tries to edge the dagger from its stabbng position back into her sachel without me noticing, and as I eye her, she lets out an angry and frustrated grunt.

"Well guess what?" I deviously growl. "My mother was right, the early bird lives and catches the culprit in ACTION."

Florida knocks on the door. "Is everything alright in there?" She checks.

I turn to Iris. "This is not over." I mutter, then I glance at the door and give a forced smile. "No, Miss Florida, Iris tried to kill me." Florida walks in the room, seemingly unfazed, and then she lets her true self lash out.

"You, cruel little as*. Don't think  you can get away with this. Don't even think that this is over. Anyway, why are you guys up so early?" She changes her emotions like flipping channels while watching TV.

Iris pointedly shoots me a glare. If looks could kill, I'd be six feet under by now. I interrupt her glaring session. "I was hungry."

"Well, breakfast isn't ready yet, but if you like you can have some scraps that the chef has made. Do you fancy some toasted garlic bread?" Florida's head swivels to meet my eyes.

I smile gratefully at her. "Thanks for everything," and I let her escort me to the dining room.
