[outside.]

"I don't feel so good, Ryo."

<time: 14:30 day: eleventh of February>

The duo stood at the front door in the same position they had been in for the past five minutes.

A puffy cheeked pout was present on Akira's face. He continued to shake his head, tightening his hold on Ryo's hand.

He feared that if he were to let go, he'd go spiraling into an infinite darkness surrounded by the screams of everyone he loved.

"We have to go, Akira." Ryo tried to pull him along as he stepped forward but he was only yanked back. Again. "It's just a meeting, you'll be fine."

The grip on his hand loosened making him peer over at Akira. It seemed he was calming himself, taking deep breaths and closing his eyes.

Ryo faced back forward as Akira opened his eyes. He could feel the pretty brown eyes looking on him. "You promise it'll be quick..right?"asked Akira in a tiny voice.

He'd go out if Ryo was sure that they'd be safe and return back home together, both of them alive.

Their world was slowly crumbling beneath them and Ryo was the key to fixing it all, as told by the government. Ryo was suppose to have all the answers and information needed to get them through this crisis.

Akira felt like that was a bit much all to put on the shoulders of his bestfriend. He was only 20 and had no prior government involvement. How was he suppose to save humanity from whatever the problem was?

That was the thing. Everyone knew what was tearing their world apart, everyone apart from Akira Fudo. The truth had been hidden from him by Ryo himself, supposedly to protect him. Akira didn't know about the presence of demons or devils.

All he knew was that the outside world was going through a bad phase at the moment and Ryo was gonna try his best to make the world brighter and better for everyone.

Ryo nodded, sure of his answer. "Of course. In and out, like always."

With that they were out and headed to the Official City's Conference Quarters.

Akira sat in the huge room on the brown leather seat placed in the corner as the leaders of the country sat around the round table discussing the problem at hand.

Ryo let his eyes drift to Akira making sure he wasn't somehow listening in on the discussion. With the sound canceling headphones he was made to wear, he was sure he wouldn't be able to, but still, he was slightly worried. Akira didn't need to know about this.

Fixing their glasses, one of the men around the table spoke up. "So is this our go plan?"

Everyone around the table looked around not wanting to meet Ryo's gaze. There was some type of unexplainable evil intent behind it.

Standing, Ryo nodded once, "We'll start Saturday."

Walking hand in hand, the pair made their way through the filthy streets heading back home.

Blood stained the sidewalks and walls of the buildings. Some from the shootings of innocent victims that were thought to be devils and some from those who couldn't take "living in this kind of world" anymore.

The only vehicles seen going down the dark roads were tanks sent out by the government. The guns fully loaded and ready to pour down onto whoever acted out of what was seen as 'the norm'.

One major change to the environment was the obvious feeling of an evil force lingering above filling the smoky skies. Those were the devils.

Once again, Akira was sheltered from this world.

Whenever they had to go out, Akira was told to keep his eyes tightly shut and keep his playlist running till they returned home. So, that's what he did.

Saying that, it was no surprise he didn't react when a random stranger pulled a gun out and started to scream insults towards them.

The gun in his hand shook along with his body from the obvious state of fear he was in. "Devils! You're all DEVILS!"

Ryo never stoped walking, going straight towards the man in their path. If he stopped Akira would get worried. That's the last thing he wanted.

The man stood in utter disbelief, watching as the bullets being shot from his gun fell down in front of the two. Not a single one hitting them.

It was as if a shield was protecting them from harm.

Ryo's eyes darkened as he concentrated his energy into getting rid of this 'waste of space' that blocked his route home.

Without moving a muscle he was able to move the gun in the mans hand, bringing it up to his own skull, pushing it against his temple. The man begin to cry out, "help me!" With the pulling of the trigger, he was silenced.

Stepping over the lifeless body, Ryo squeezed Akira's hand in reassurance, continuing on their way.

Ryo eyed Akira suspiciously, seeing as he didn't do his usual smile after feeling the hand squeeze. Instead, he could see the slight quiver of his lips.

The blondes eyes went wide as he looked away. For the first time in a while, he was worried.
"Had Akira just witnessed a death right in front of his eyes?"

Ryo hoped his thoughts were untrue. But with the single drop of a tear, he knew it wasn't so.
