The Jade Dragon

Chapter 1

A girl around the age of 14 was silently walking through corridors. Even though it wasn't visible she could feel the blood that had been spilled in them. As the girl approached the door there where voices that could be heard from inside.

"It is time for her to graduate. She is the best here. We need to use her before she breaks" One of the voices said.

"We can't risk losing her at such a young age. We need her for the future of the red room." The other one responded.

When the girl was finally getting interested in the conversation she had been eves dropping somebody pulled away from the door and threw her into the wall making her black out.

Aaliyah jolted out of bed in a cold sweat. She looked around the room and as the door handle started to turn she picked up the pistol from underneath her pillow and held it at the door handle. A man walked into the room and closed the door behind him.

"Aaliyah put the gun down it's just me." He said turning around to face her. Aaliyah put the gun down on her bedside table and smiled at the man.

"Phil you startled me. I thought you where a intruder of some kind." She exclaimed.

"I'm sorry Aaliyah but Selvig needs you downstairs." Phil responded before leaving the room. Aaliyah walked over to her wardrobe taking out her combat uniform because when you work with S.H.I.E.L.D a day down in the lab could turn into a hostage situation. Finally she picked back up her gun placing it in its holster alongside her knifes. She picked up her batons and twisted the short versions of them ,she had made them so they could be small and then turn larger at a touch of a button, into her hair before leaving the room herself into the busy S.H.I.E.L.D base. Aaliyah descended down the stairs to Selvigs lab.

"Ahhh Agent Federov there you are." Selvig said ushering her to a computer he was standing in front of. "You see this. Every so often the cube sparks for no reason. We can't figure out why unless the things we've already known for months."

"Maybe it's because the things surrounding the cube don't act well with it. I mean it's alien. Unless we get somebody who has excellent knowledge about this subject we won't be able to figure this out for a while." Aaliyah responded. Although she was an excellent scientist not even she would be able to figure the tesseract out unless she had chosen the Scientists she was working with and one of them was an expert on Alien artefacts.

"We'll test that but I agree we won't be able to figure this out until we get the right resources." Selvig exclaimed. Aaliyah nodded before climbing up a ladder and sitting next to a friend of her's Clint.

'Hey Lea.' He signed to her. Clint was partially deaf so if there was a lot of loud noise Clint taught her and their other friend Natasha sign language so they could all communicate.

'Hi Clint.' She signed back 'Why aren't you down there. I thought fury told you to keep a close watch of the tesseract'

'I see better from a distance' Clint responded. Quickly Clint turned his head and Aaliyah followed it to see Fury walking in. 'Told you so' He signed making Aaliyah laugh. She got hold of the railing and it used it to help her jump down to the floor
