"I LOVE YOU BABY AND IF ITS QUITE ALRIGHT" Frankie Valli's voice boomed through the house. Marie' father had cranked up the stereo early today. But she didn't mind, she was already awake, working on her resume. It was 7:00 am, July 20th. She was meeting Nina and they were going to search for a job for Marie. Today she wore her legally blonde t-shirt with blue capris. It was the dullest thing she could find. She quickly speed walked past her parents. Her mother would go ballistic if she saw her wearing that.
......................
"Lets take a look at your résumé." Nina looked up and down the pink stationary with gold embellishments. "Name: Marie Alexandrie Francois Dubois. Wow. And all I got was Nina!" she laughed. "Birth date: July 24th 1996. Year of the rat." She said matter-of-factly.
"Oh!" said Marie, both disgusted yet impressed by her knowledge of zodiacs.
"Skills, education, wow! Are you applying for a job, or a college?!?"
"Is it good?" asked Marie willingly.
"Good? This could pass as a NOVEL! So. Where would you like to start?"
"Stinman's paper clips. It's where they design and make paper clips." She informed her.
"O-k" said Nina slightly confused. They got into Nina's jeep and drove to 'stinman's'.
'Stinman's was a tall building, although Nina had never noticed it before. Up on the tap there was a giant blow up paper clip with eyes and a smile. He looked like he was going for an afternoon stroll. They walked up to a desk were a stout and annoyed looking woman sat.
"Good morning." she said in a quite monotone voice. "Whaddya want?"
"How do you do? My name is Marie. I am hereabouts on a pursuit to find a superb yet trite occupation, hence I may live a life chock-full of trepidation, uncertainty, and jurisdiction over my forthcoming."
The woman stared at Marie with confusion, then at Nina, then back at Marie.
"Huh?" Said the lady.
"She needs a job." Said Nina with a sigh.
"Oh. Let me call my boss." She murmured something into the phone. "She'll be here in a minute. I'm gonna go get some more coffee." Said the lady, yawning.
"I can't wait to meet my new bo-" Marie's voice faded into the distance. She thought she recognized a shadowy figure at the end of the hall. The secretary was passing by her. She stopped and pointed back to them. As the figure got closer, Marie's face grew strong with worry.
"Who is that?" Asked Nina. "Do you know her?"
"That's m-, that's my- my-" She was almost sure of who it was now. Her long hair just waiting to be pulled out. Her eyes desperately asking to be clawed at. "That's, that's my-" she was the only person who had ever made Marie feel bad about herself.
"Your who?" YOU'RE WHO?!?!" Nina was becoming restless.
Marie put her hand on her heart. It was beating very fast now. She fell a few steps back, ready to faint, but Nina caught her. She gulped.
"My- sister."
