Beautiful Stranger

Chapter 8

Jc's POV

I have no idea where we're going; all I knew was that I wanted to get out of there with her. I decided I wanted to get to know as much as I can about her.

"What adventures have you had in LA so far?"

"Since I'm fairly new here, I've not done much."

When she said that, the perfect place to take her came into my mind.

Katie's POV

"Where are you taking me?"

"Well, I thought you liked adventure. Now, will you stop asking questions and live a little. It's one thing to have an adventure and it's another to experience your adventure so just sit back and enjoy the ride."

I couldn't help but see the devilish smile on his face. It intrigued me and I automatically wanted to know more.

From then on, I didn't question the beautiful stranger, as he liked to say. I just sat back and enjoyed his boyish personality and wonderful smile.

"Will you at least tell me how much further we have? I am wearing heels, you know."

"We're almost there. What did I say about enjoying the ride, experiencing the adventure?"

"Okay, no more questions, scouts honor." I said as I sarcastically cross my heart.

Jc's POV

I haven't let go of her hand since we left the party. I just love how well it fit in mine. The way it felt.

"We're finally here. The Santa Monica Pier."

I looked over at her and saw the most beautiful thing I think I've ever seen in my life, her smile, which quickly left.

"Uh, you do realize the the pier is closed, right?"

"Of course. That's the adventure part. Did you really think we were just going to the pier? That's no adventure. That's a normal day in LA." I said as I jumped over the fence.

Katie's POV

He's crazy if he thinks he's gonna talk me into this.

"I just had to say adventure, didn't I?" I mumbled to where he couldn't hear me, or so I thought.

"What was that?"

"Oh, nothing." I said sarcastically laughing.

I know he heard me. I don't know whether to love him or hate him for it.

"Alright. Now, come on. You'll be fine."

"And, how do you know that?"

"I don't. You just have to stop being worried and remember what you told me you love," he stopped and slowly whispered, "adventure."

"Fine, but if we get caught, we're using your money to bail us out."

Jc's POV

I could tell she was scared of getting caught, but I felt like that was just an opportunity for me to comfort her. You could tell she secretly wanted to. I can see it in her face. She just needed a little push.

Literally. I had to push her over the top of the fence.

We walked around for a while and we just talked about ourselves. About her new life in LA, comparing it to her different life she lived in Nashville before she came here.

The ending was the best part. We went down to the beach and walked with our toes in the sand.

Katie's POV

I don't even know what his face fully looks like and I just can't stop looking at him.

Things got quiet for a while till he got bored and decided to throw me in the ocean.

"I'm gonna kill you!" I yelled as I tripped him making him fall into the ocean, too.

We splashed in the water for a while, playfully and then I remembered abandoning Allison and decided to head back.

Jc's POV

You could definitely tell she was happier going back over the fence than she was climbing in here.

All I could think about was the moonlight shining off her wet, Auburn hair.

I think she was saying something but I have no idea what it was. I was too busy staring at her.

"Admit it, breaking the law was pretty fun." I asked as I grabbed her hand again.

"Okay, fine. I might have had a good time."

Katie POV

We got back to Andrea's apartment. Right before we went inside, I leaned in for a kiss but, shockingly, he leaned away from me.

"Remember how I said this was a one night thing?" He asked me, and sadly, I remembered.

I nodded my head slowly.

"Well then, if this is only for one night, then I can't kiss you because if I do, then all I'm gonna think about till I fun you again will be you."
