Beautiful Stranger

Chapter 7

Katie's POV

"Are you guys ready? The party's about to start." I yell up the stairs to Allison, Jenn, and Andrea.

"Yeah!" I hear them yell back enthusiastically

They all come downstairs into the kitchen and Jenn grabs the shot glasses and the tequila.

"To Andrea finally being 19!!!"

Suddenly, there's knocks on the door and Andrea squeals from excitement and runs to greet all the people.

Jc's POV

"Hurry up, Kian! We're already an hour late."

"Chill out, I'm ready."

After 30 minutes of watching Kian fix his hair, only to have how it was to begin with, we left for the party.

It felt we were there in no time at all, and I could see the worry in Kian's face because he hasn't seen Andrea often since the break up.

"Don't worry about Andrea. Think about the amazing night we're about to have."

Kian hesitantly looks at me and says, "Alright. Let's get this night started, but I'll need a drink first."

As we both walked into Jenn and Andrea's apartment, we grabbed some drinks and searched for the girls we'll spend our night with.

We got distracted when we found Connor and Ricky. We haven't talked to Connor much since he moved out. We got into conversation about what he's been doing and everything that's been going on in this new chapter of his life.

When Connor was talking, I couldn't help but get distracted by the most beautiful laugh I think I've ever heard. I just had to turn and find the source of it. All the sudden, I find an absolutely beautiful girl wearing a short and playful teal dress doing shots with her friends. Seeing this, I could tell she would be up for anything, and I knew I wanted my night of adventure to be spent with her.

I nudged Kian to get his attention because I saw she had a friend. He nodded in agreement and we both knew what we wanted.

Katie's POV

Me and Allison talk until a slow, romantic song comes on. I remembered my situation with Ryan and I know Allison could see the change in my level of hype.

"I'm gonna go get some drinks cause I'm not letting you be sad like this." And, with that Allison left.

Jc's POV

"Aye, they're both alone now. It's our chance. Let's move in." I say.

"Alright. Wish me luck." Kian left to get his girl.

Katie's POV

I noticed that Ally was taking an unusually long time getting our drinks. But as soon as I looked up it didn't matter.

He was wearing a black suit and the most simple black mask. And his tie was teal so I already new we had something in common.

"Would you like to dance?" He asked me as he extended his hand.

I began to hesitate, then, remembering my earlier conversation with Allison about how important forgetting about Ryan is right now, I accepted it leading him to the dance floor.

"So, what's you name?" I asked curiously.

He does the most adorable smirk that makes me melt and says, "I'm afraid I can't tell you."

"And why is that?"

"Well you see me and my friend made this deal." and then he proceeded to tell me about this insane deal that was made to help his friend get over his ex.

I was a little confused at first but it all kinda started to make sense the more he explained. I feel like that's exactly what I need right now to get Ryan off my mind.

So I quietly laughed and agreed to this crazy arrangement.

He look kinda shocked at first, like that wasn't what he was expecting, then again why would he expect me to say yes, I mean no other girl would.

After a second he looked at me with that smile and said, " So why don't you tell me about yourself my beautiful stranger."

Beautiful stranger? I didn't know if that was something you read in a Nicholas Sparks novel or something a stalker said as they broke into your house in the middle of the night. There's only one was to find out.

"Well what exactly are the requirements of how much I am aloud to tell you?" I asked curiously.

"Just tell me your passions what make you happy, what makes you, you."

I thought for a second as we swayed back and forth on the dance floor.

"Adventure." I replied

He looked kinda dazed at my answer.

"Really?"

"Yeah really" I said laughing sarcastically.

" Ok smart ass. Please share with me what adventures you've been on."

"And here I was thinking we were supposed to say as little a possible about ourselves."

Then suddenly the song we had been dancing too was over to soon. I began to turn around and walk away to go find Allison, when suddenly I felt someone gently grab my arm.

"Do you wanna get outta here?" He said with that smirk.

After seeing his smile that was it, I was hooked and I had to know more.
