the boys are coming home today. you can't wait to see arthur. he's been away, fighting in the war.
it's been so long without your boyfriend.
you go to the train station and see arthur. you run up to him and jump into his arms, giving him a hug.
you go home and later that night, you wake up to the sound of crying. it's arthur sat at the foot of the bed with his head in his hands!
the war made him crazy!
you rush to comfort him and you hold him in your embrace. he rests his head into your shoulder and just cries.
it goes on like this for weeks on end-every night. until one!
it gets worse!
the crying stops and the screams start!
you haven't slept in a couple months. but you know it's worth it. arthur needs you so it wouldn't be right to just sleep when he's in need of help.
you've barely seen him, he's always with his brothers and you only see him at night.
he needs help. help that you can't provide for him.
he barely remembers anything. but the war is always fresh in his mind.
you still remember the last words he said to you before getting on the train and leaving. "I'll see you again y/n y/l/n"
it pains you that he can't.
