On the eve of 2020 I was home preparing a platter of cold meats, crackers, cheese and deserts as my father braaied on our patio under the stary sky in the December heat. I had wanted to buy firecrackers and light them on the beach. I loved the light the show of beauty and joy as we ushered in a new year with a bang. My parents however did not approve of thrivilously wasting money on a bang. Instead we spent The night calmly with a childish wander. As midnight struck I climbed up onto my roof to watch the fireworks without a care in the world without a clue of what was to come.
