In quick summary, so you know what you are reading, this is a story about Sam's life at home but also living amongst gang members. Living with homophobic parents, he doesn't have the best life. Because of homophobic parents, they don't love him like a son; they find him disgraceful for being gay. Which resulted in him being kicked out. That is all I am going to say.
