Homophobia warning ⚠️
Sorta just explaining Sam's life

Life for Sam wasn't as simple now, as great as someone who walks past you every day. Like most, his started great. He had loving parents who supported him and got the blessing to grow up happy, getting things he deserved. His life was as he described, perfect, that was until he realised who he really was.

He once remembered when he was younger, walking through his town with his parents, seeing two men in front of him holding hands. He looked up at his father, "Dad, why are they holding hands, I thought only girls and boys do that?" Sam had questioned and his curiosity grew. "Oh, don't worry about them, Sam, don't take notice of them. Don't you go holding any boy's hands, it's gross." His dad described, letting out a fake gag. Sam had no reply to this and just nodded, noticing one man turn around slightly, seeing a frown on their face.

A few years had passed since this, but something that changed his life had occurred. He was eleven when this happened, and while at the local park, he noticed two men sitting on the park bench holding hands. He walked up to them, "sorry to disturb you but, my dad said it's bad for two men to hold hands because they will go to hell, so why are you guys holding hands?"

One of them lightly chuckled, "kid, there is nothing wrong with it, if you love someone, then don't be afraid to show it. What do you think if two men holding hands?"

"Uh.. dad says it's bad, but I don't have a problem with it."

"That's good, take my word of advice. If you love someone regardless of their gender, don't feel ashamed about it. Love is love, and at the end of the day, we're all still human."

"Your right, well I hope you too love each other, you look happy," Sam said, smiling widely at the two.

He had realised through his life; he had never had a crush on a girl or been attracted to any. When walking through clothing shops, he never thought much of the posters of girls modelling, but when there were men modelling, he found himself looking at them longer than needed. While in middle school, he realised he actually had a crush on a boy in his class; he had no shame in it, so much so he admitted it to his crush/classmate, he was stunning to Sam after all. This is something that Sam can't forget. The boy laughed at him, telling him he was disgusting, and even managed to get the entire school to make fun of him. Thankfully, his parents' never found out.

Sam was seventeen. Still in the closet, he decided, because his parents had treated him right, respected him for his entire life. He thought he should do it. That night he asked for his family to come to meet in the living room so he could tell them. Well, this was the worst thing Sam believed he has ever done.

"So um, I don't want to disappoint any of you, but I'm tired of not showing the real me. I've noticed over the last few years, that I like people who are the same gender as me. I'm gay." Sam said, finding the floor interesting all of a sudden. He felt a hand under his chin, looking up to see his dad. Sam stood up, his entire family's jaws practically at their feet.

He was about to say something to his father when he suddenly felt a stinging sensation on his cheek. He felt like the blood was rushing there, finally realising his dad had slapped him.

"I told you so many times, and still you can't get it through your thick skull, it is disgusting for you to like a boy, and I will have none of it. You stop this nonsense, and just be the normal boy you once were." His dad exclaimed.

"I'm still your son, I am the same person you've always known. Everything is just out in the open now." Sam said, feeling water build up in his eyes, and a clump building in his throat.

His dad got right up into his face, "I hope this is a phase, because this is disgraceful that you have my last name, only to say you're gay. Better not be pranking' me or doing it because all the 'cool' people are."

"I am not pranking you, this is the real me, I'm still a human being I just like a different gender then you do," Sam said, finally starting to feel tears trickle down his pale, pink cheeks.

"Just go to your room, I will not hear one more word!" His mum yelled. That being the first thing she had said to him, Sam knew his family hated him now.

----------------------------

It had been a few months after this. His family stopped caring for him, his school stopped bothering to help his education. His parents no longer bought him food, he had to do that himself, the teachers at his school gave him no recognition anymore, and purposely gave him F's on his schoolwork. Almost every student would send him death glares and shove him around the entire day. All for being who he really was. The only two people in his life who didn't make fun of him were his brother and sister, they didn't care, Sam was still their brother.

While lying on his bed, starring blankly at the ceiling, his mother called for him. He groaned but got up and made his way down the stairs. When he made eye contact with them, he went to pull out a chair at the dinner table.

"You won't be needing to sit, just stand there, we need to talk to you." His dad said.

"Oh, alright," Sam said.
"Sam, due to this new change in your life, we feel that we have no choice but to kick you out of the house. We refuse to let you live under the same roof as us. We don't want you influencing your siblings, or making the rest of our family look bad." His mother said, blank facial expression.

"W-what?"
