Y/N's POVI was so confused, all of a sudden someone does something to intervene? I was completely fine, used to it, actually. But why was he doing it now? I didn't trust him one bit.
I just gaped at him, my eyes filled with shock and confusion. He grinned lightly. "Are you alright?" He asked, sounding genuinely concerned. Though I detected a note of fakeness. I wouldn't be shocked if this was all for some dare.
"What the heck?" I sputtered out. Great y/n, just what you needed to say. GOOD JOB.
He smiled lightly at my confusion, "Did they hurt you?" He asked. I blinked, my wrist hurt. One of the Jerkfaces grabbed it and yanked me. "I'm fine," I lied without hesitation. I was used to lying.
"Now if you don't mind, I'll be heading off to class now." I said sourly. Something was up, but I knew I wasn't getting an answer anytime soon.
...
I walked out of my last class and headed down the pathway to the younger children section of our school, our school taught 1st to 12th grade, I picked up my speed, I was nervous. Ansel seemed like me in a way, weaker than those around me.
My heart raced as I walked down the pathway, I could hear muffled voices as I was near the door.
"Hey guys, look who it is!"
"The castaway!"
Then I heard a small whimper, supposedly from Ansel.
Wasn't the Teacher gonna do anything?
I opened the door, the Teacher wasn't present, how stupid. Ansel was crowded into a corner from two large werewolf kids. I stormed over.
"Hey! Leave him alone!" I snapped. These kids weren't worth my patience.
"You need a Human to protect you?" A kid laughed.
"And that Human" I sneered. "Can break your arm." I threatened. The two werewolves looked alarmed and scurried away.
I watched the dash away to another part of the room, "I wasn't serious about the last part," I laughed quietly, then turned to Ansel.
"Are you okay?" I bent down and checked him for bruises. His eye was swelling, they must have punched him.
"My eye hurts," He whimpered.
"Once we get home, I'll patch you right up, okay?" I said, my hand on his shoulder. "Okay," He sniffed.
...
We walked inside the apartment, it was just as we left it.
I put my backpack down near the couch, I'd do my homework later, Ansel set his backpack down as well and followed me to the kitchen.
I looked through the bottom cupboards, I knew I had all sorts of First-Aid things. Given how much I get hurt, I finally found some motrin.
"In the freezer, grab out two ice packs." I instructed and I heard the freezer door open. I stood up as Ansel closed the freezer door with two ice packs in his hand. "Why two?" He asked.
"Some jerk grabbed my wrist," I sighed, I held my right wrist and push up my sleeve to show a red mark. "It's not too bad though, I've had worse." I reassured him. Ansel looked worried.
"Now put one of them over your eye and I'll take the other," I held my left hand out for an ice pack and he gave me one. Then he rest his ice pack over his left eye. His wolf ears were lowered.
I set my ice pack on my right wrist, it was all I could do to heal it. "If it hurts too much, come to me and I can give you some motrin, that works on werewolves right?" I asked him, a bit anxious, I let out a relived breath when he nodded. "Werewolves heal quite fast," He said quietly. "Must be a nice trait to have," I said conversationally and he nodded.
"How was your day y/n?" Ansel asked, I debated about telling him about Fuji, something told me I should. But not clearly. "I met a new person today, but I'm not sure he's a real friend." I decided, choosing my words carefully.
Ansel seemed to understand that I didn't want to say everything and nodded.
"Sooo! What would you like for dinner?" I asked brightly to change the mood.
"Chicken nuggies!" Ansel said excitedly, I laughed at his enthusiasm. I ruffled his hair. His tail wagged happily.
"Chicken nuggies it is!" I declared l, laughing.
...
It was late at night, I had put Ansel to bed around seven, since tomorrow was a school day. I had worked on my homework for about two hours. My head hurt.
Today confused me, it all went by so fast, I have a somewhat friend? I've literally adopted a child and who knows what will come next.
"It doesn't make any sense? Why be my friend now?" I sighed, frustrated. Nothing went together in my head. It was just a puzzle that didn't go together.
