"What cage?" he questioned.
"Wow," I laughed. "That's rich. Tha--that's a good one. The one on Harudheen, dumbass! You're the one that's supposed to know more about me than I do."
"There are a lot of things you never told me," Logan shot back.
"Where is there to tell? I was treated like a piece of shit while being expected to save a dying race. That's about all anyone needs to know," I shrugged.
"Well, that race has now died out. You're welcome," he said.
"I know, I read the news article. I've been living in this halfway state for over a year now, and I had the sense to look up what I missed," I explained.
"I know it's been over a year because I spent the entire time trying to find you," he snapped.
"Spymanship 101. Never let your enemies know your location. And, at that point, everyone was an enemy. Don't hold it against me," I said nonchalantly.
"I might because it was bloody annoying to find you," he sighed.
"You're a sorcerer, correct?" I asked suddenly, and he nodded. "Well, I'm gonna say this now--you might wanna make yourself a new look. A lot of people on this planet have you on a revenge list after you invaded in 2012." He huffed but waved his hand. His eyes changed into a greenish-blue color, his hair going red-blonde. "Did you use Logan Lewis anywhere?"
"Of course I did," he responded.
"Then we have to change your name. We can keep the last name because there are only so many of those in the world," I said swiftly.
"Would the name Tom suffice?" he asked, and I shrugged.
"It works. You look like a Tom anyway. If anyone asks, you're Logan's identical twin," I said.
"And people would believe that?" he scoffed.
"People will believe anything these days. The best thing we can do is take advantage of it and use it to our benefit," I stated, rolling a map of the world out on the table. "Now, we need to get out of the country, and we need to do it quickly."
"Why?"
"There's a war brewing, buddy. It has been for years. Tensions have been rising between the United States, them, and Turkey, which is here, for years. Right now, the US is allied with Spain and several other powerhouses. They'll probably keep fighting in the European mainland, so our best bet is England, which is up here."
"You have this extremely-well thought out," he commented.
"I've been waiting for an evacuation order since I got here. All my valuables as packed in carriers, I can leave at any time. I've got money saved up, so I can keep us afloat once we gain refugee status. Once we get there, we apply to settle there, and we're home free."
"Are you sure this wi--" a piercing whine filled the air, and I froze.
"Evacuation sirens. Hush," I snapped as he opened his mouth.
"Spain is now at war against Turkey and its allies. All citizens have been instructed to evacuate the country. Drafted members must show up to the nearest city hall."
"Time to go?"
"Time to go."
