"A tricky little potion, Amortentia, that is; now, get busy," Snape said, roaming around the classroom and picking on how horribly wrong the Gryffindor potions were.

"Have any idea of what yours'll smell like?" Crabbe asked.

"Let me check my diary—oh yeah, I don't have one. I'm not a girl, Crabbe, I don't lay around and dream of what someone smells like," Goyle barked back, hitting Crabbe on the shoulder.

————————

"Malfoy, care to tell us what you smell?" said Snape coldly as he knew I wasn't paying attention.

"It smells like, what's that?" I sighed and began to look around at all the intrigued faces of the girls, trying to place who it would fit best. "Coconut, I believe it is?"

"Miss Rogers, you're up," Snape said monotonously as he made his way over to her desk that she had shared with that Williams girl she's always around.

"Mint," she began, slowly fidgeting with her necklace,"mint and something woodsy? A type of cologne?"

Is 'woodsy' even a word?

A shiny, gold something caught my eye as I was shoving miscellaneous books and pieces of parchment back into my bag. I picked it up and examined it closely, burn marks were etched all around the small ring I had recognized to be Eliza's.

"Who's the unlucky gal?" Goyle taunted, his eyes darting to the flashy piece of jewelry in my hand.

"Shut up, would you?" I snarled back as I made my way back up the spiraling black staircase to the girls dormitories.

I pressed my ear against the door that began to rattle in the doorframe as I tried to listen to their conversation. I'm not nosey, I'm just...just...you get the point.

"I'll get it!" someone called from inside, I must've made too much noise.

"Just wanted to return this," I said blatantly as I squeezed past Pansy and walked over to Eliza to hand her the ring and leave before either of them thought too much of it.

"Where'd you—" she stuttered in awe.

"Left it in Potions earlier," I mumbled while looking down at her. "I really should be on my way."

"Bye, Draco," Pansy said slowly as she showed me out and shut the door, believing I actually bought her fake smile.

"These girls, Blaise, these girls will be the death of me," I sighed as I made my way down the rickety staircase and into an armchair around the fire of the common room.

"What girls?" Blaise said, leaning forward in his chair.

"Just listen, you'll hear it," I said as I leaned my head back and loosened up my tie, trying to ignore the bickering and shrieking of the two girls above.

moments later...

"Kate!" I cried out down the empty hall. "Andrew! Anyone! Well, maybe not anyone."

"What, Liza," Andrew groaned wearily as he emerged from behind the door to his dormitory.

"Go wake up Kate, I pissed off Parkinson and I think that if I sleep alone, I'll wake up bald tomorrow."

"Why the hell would you wake up bald?" he yawned.

"Just get Kate!"

———————

"I'll bet you could just see the smoke coming out of her ears!" Andrew—who had woken up a great deal since, say, thirty minutes ago— rolled over on his back to look at the ceiling, laughing uncontrollably while running his fingers through his dirty blonde hair.

"D'you two ever think he'll," Kate made a sort of slicing motion across her throat. "Cut all ties between him and Pansy?"

"You're delirious!" I laughed out while pointing to Andrew curled up in a ball of uncontrollable laughter.

"But do yo—what was that?" Kate whispered as she abruptly sat up.

"Sorry to crash your little party or whatever, but Eliza, a word," Draco said urgently as he reached out and placed a hand around my wrist

"S—sure," I stuttered a little as I reached behind me for the doorknob and closed the door, stepping into the hallway.
