Seeking The Bookworm

One Year Later

Hermione, Ginny, Luna and surprisingly Lavender were in the Three Broomsticks having a ‘girls weekend out’.  They were currently discussing guys and old times from Hogwarts. Lavender and Hermione had become friends when Hermione had found Lavender in her department at the Ministry’s bathroom crying. Lavender had revealed that she had been dating Terry Boot for close to three years and had not ten minutes before found him up against the wall with none other than Rita Skeeter of all people!

They had been friends ever since.

“So Mi, anyone catch your eye lately?” Ginny nudged her, winking.

Hermione sighed, “Gin, my job at the Ministry has had me working to the bone.”

“Bollocks Mi! You and I work in the same department! We haven’t had a case in weeks!” Lavender interrupted.

Hermione scowled at Lavender. It was true that the Magical Law Enforcement Department hadn’t had an investigating case in weeks but that was no excuse, there was still work to be done in her opinion.

Just as she was about to retort, Luna in her dreamy voice asked, “Isn’t that Viktor Krum?”

All four heads swirled around and looked out the window. Sure enough, the Bulgarian was standing outside Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, talking to none other than Fred and George.

“Wonder what he’s doing in England again?”

“Who knows…” Hermione whispered. She stared out the window, oblivious to the three knowing smirks sent her way.
