Soulmate AU: Word Tattoo/Color (The first words your soulmate will say to you are imprinted on your wrist the day you're born. As soon as your soulmate says those words, you will be able to see color.)

It's said that once you meet your soulmate, your whole world becomes filled with colors. The day you are born, the first words your soulmate will say to you are imprinted on your wrist.

Brenton has been waiting for that day to happen. For his soulmate to come and say the words that have been imprinted on his wrist and have his world burst into color, and then they would live happily ever after in a house filled with laughter and kids of their own.

That plan is, however, foiled when his soulmate drops out of the sky- yeah, that's right. His soulmate DROPS OUT OF THE FUCKING SKY. WHAT IN THE FUCKING HELL?!- and lands on his lap. Literally. Like, Brenton was sitting on a bench minding his own goddamn business when a blonde boy just falls from the sky and onto his lap

How does he know that the boy was his soulmate?

Because the words imprinted on his wrist since he was born were the same words that came out of the boy's mouth:

"It did hurt when I fell from heaven, just so you know."

And just like that, colors bursted into life in front of him. Brenton's first memory of color was the sky blue color of his soulmate's eyes- the exact same color of the sky.

"I'm Skye, by the way," Skye (his parents had named him well) smiled boyishly, his light blonde fringe falling into his eyes a bit.

He was adorable.

"Fuck," Brenton muttered, blinking to get adjusted to the sudden color after living in a monochrome world for- well. For eighteen years.

"OHMYGOSH!" The blonde gasped, blinking rapidly as color appeared in his vision. HE COULD SEE COLOR. But that means-

Skye maneuvered himself to straddle Brenton before slapping both his hands to either side of Brenton's face and shaking his head back in forth frantically."YOURE MY SOULMATE?! YOURE THE REASON WHY I HAVE THE 'F' WORD TATOOED ON MY WRIST?!"

Brenton blinked as Skye started ranting about how much shit he got for having the word fuck tattooed on his wrist since the day he was born and about how he didn't understand what it meant and when he did understand what it meant, he screamed and got in trouble during class and-

"No."

Skye stopped rambling to cock his head to the side, confused. "What do u mean 'No'?"

"No," Brenton repeated, his image of a perfect life shattering. He was- his soulmate was supposed to be a girl- right? I mean- his parents had been going on and on about having grandkids and he hated letting his parents down- "No."

"Wow, that tells me so much. Please go on, I'm learning so many new things," Skye said sarcastically, rolling his eyes from his place on Brenton's lap.

That's right. The boy was on his lap. Why was he letting the boy sit on his lap?

"No," Brenton repeated to himself, standing up abruptly and ignoring the squawk Skye let out as he fell off Brenton's lap and onto the concrete (Brenton was not worried. Nope. Not a little.)

(Okay. He was kind of worried. But. He didn't look hurt.)

"DUDE, NOT COOL!" Skye gasped, a hand held over his heart as he breathed dramatically. "I could have died. Granted, I am an Angel, but still."
