Ty raised his sword in the nick of time, blocking Carify's weapon. But as usual, his momentum ceased, and he could feel that the strength he continuously supplied to his weapon was being sucked away. The side of his own jagged blade nearing his throat as Carify applied more strength behind her axe.
Every living cell of his dedicated itself to stopping the weapon, he dared not teleport, for it would be too risky to divert his attention.
"T...Ty..."
Carify froze, both her and Brineary's heads whipping towards Sky, still inside his sphere. The strength Carify applied lessened slightly, and Ty immediately took the chance to teleport away, breathing heavily. Just as Carify whirled to face him once again, a dark figure flew out of nowhere, his foot slamming into Carify's backside. The force behind it immediately subsided, but then it caught Carify off guard. Ty immediately teleported aside, just to realize it was Jason who had distracted the woman. The Wither hybrid flew into the air, launching a few bombs at the virus.
Carify's fist glowed with energy, as she flung the writhing mass towards the bombs, intercepting them just as the two substances exploded upon impact.
"Get away from him!" Jason screamed, just as the other members of the group burst into the destroyed room, attacking Brineary immediately, who didn't seem fazed as he fought back, blasting a furious barrage from Rin to shreds as he forcibly stopped Rianna's space warp in midair. Shaman and Steve lunged for him, sceptre and sword swinging. Brineary simply did a casual looking side-step, pivoting on his heel as he sent a blast of energy colliding into Steve's shoulder. Steve was blasted backwards with a pained cry, clutching his non dominant shoulder, while Shaman hurled the debris at the white eyed virus, who simply formed an energy shield in response.
The energy shield was abruptly ripped apart as space distorted, the debris disappearing and re-launching themselves back at Brineary from another angle. With a snarl, Brineary's scythe appeared in his extended hand, ducking and deflecting the debris to the side.
"We have to get out of here!" Jason yelled, knowing that they would soon be overwhelmed by Brineary's strength. He blasted Carify aside with a Wither bomb, just as she skidded aside to a safe distance. The virus growled, tossing one of her axes at Jason. The Wither hybrid frantically dodged, just to realize that the blade wasn't aimed for him.
Ty, wounded and dazed, was too late to dodge incoming projectile in time. The axe hit him mid-teleport, forcing him to materialize in his original spot, the axe buried at his side. The Ender Dragon hybrid promptly slumped to the ground with a pained groan, fresh purple blood welling out from the wound.
"Ty no!" Jason gasped, blocking another energy burst from Carify with a Wither bomb, the explosion forcing him to back up and get closer to Ty.
"Ty!" Sky's blood ran cold. His shock and anger caused a burst of strength to surge through him. Fighting his exhaustion, he commanded his arm to move. When it didn't budge, he tried again, refusing to take no for an answer. Guilt washed over him, he got his friends into this situation in the first place, and he was the reason Ty, his best friend was badly wounded.
I have to save Ty, he thought to himself. I have to get out of here.
His father's face flashed through his mind, as he bit back a sob. He failed his dad, he wasn't going to fail Ty now. He had been such a bad friend to him and everyone else, blinded by his guilt and grief, that he had almost forgotten what they are willing to do for him, how much they loved him like a fellow family member.
I am the son of Herobrine, he thought to himself, and I'm not gonna let some virus get away with killing anyone. Not again.
The amulet at the base of his throat grew warm.
