It Wasn't Me [Taekook/Vkook]

Chapter 1

Taehyung was exhausted after work. It was a stressful day, more stressful than usual.

He had finished his shift at 2 am and yet had to go back at 8 am. He was really considering searching for a new job. But the pay was good so he would dismiss the thoughts like always.

Taehyung loved shopping and visiting exotic places, and that required money. His boyfriend was a very rich man but Taehyung would always use his own salary for his expenses. Yet, everyone thought of him as a 'gold digger'.

He was too tired to stop by the dog house to say hi to Tannie so he just unlocked the door to his shared house with his boyfriend and vanished into his room.

Jihoon, Taehyung's boyfriend, was a man by the clock. He wouldn't be home till late evening so Taehyung didn't bother to look around. He should have.

After a satisfying sleep, Taehyung woke up. He had lost track of time, he had no idea how long he had slept as he had no idea when he had come home.

He washed up and went into the kitchen. There was a weird smell in the house. Taehyung didn't think much of it and poured a glass of water for himself. It was then that his eyes laid on Jihoon's bedroom door.

'Why is it closed? Is Jihoon home already?'

He kept his glass back on the table and walked to the closed door. He knocked a couple of times, No Answer.

He slowly opened the door and there was Jihoon, lying on the floor lifelessly in a pool of blood. Taehyung ran to the body but did not touch it. Having had a detective boyfriend in the past had taught him a couple things a person shouldn't do.

He checked the room to make sure no one was there, all the while crying to himself. He dialled 911 and sat in the living room away from the body. He had also called his brother Namjoon for moral support.

"He was lying here when you came in?"

"Yes sir"

"Taehyung, the wound is fresh. The forensics need to confirm but I would say he was murdered in the past 4-5 hours. Were you home then?"

"I'm not sure.."

"Hm?" The officer lifted an eyebrow.

"I was too tired and went to sleep. I didn't check the time.."

"How's that possible?" Another officer interrogated.

"I'm not lying" Tae whispered.

"You were boyfriends?" The first officer continued.

"Yes"

"Then different bedrooms?" The officer looked at Tae's bedroom across the living room.

"Um yeah I wasn't ready for.."

"Hm. Mr Kim don't leave town. We'll be back. And is there some place else you could stay?"

"He can stay with me" Namjoon joined the conversation.

"You are?" The officer noted something.

"Tae's brother"

"Fill your address and phone number here please" the officer handed a note to Namjoon.

"Are you a heavy sleeper, Mr Taehyung?"

"I wouldn't say so.. I can hear Tannie even if I'm in the deepest sleep"

"Yeah I can confirm that, he's a light sleeper." Namjoon added.

"So it's unlikely that someone killed Jihoon when you were home?"

"I guess" Taehyung answered.

"So if the murder timing is in the same window as your presence, it would mean you killed him. Is that what you are saying?"

"Officer, I am just being honest with you. And trust me, I didn't kill him! Why would I? I have no reason to kill him!" Tae shouted.

"We'll see about that but Mr Taehyung, You're grieving. So we'll come back for questions later."

Taehyung nodded. Namjoon overheard the officers conversation.

"Is he even grieving?"

"Not one bit and them staying in different rooms suggest they weren't on good terms."

"Suspicious"

"He's our prime suspect as of now"

Namjoon came back to Taehyung.

"They think I did it"

"No Tae.. they'll investigate further"

"I don't trust them and at the moment I do seem guilty. If they find out I.."

"Shush even the walls have ears, say no more. But I think.."

"Hm hyung?"

"Wait, did you touch the body?"

"No! I remember Jungkook telling me all this, I didn't touch him"

"Ah Jeon Jungkook... So that means the body will not have your fingerprints. That's good"

"Yes you're right. I will be off the hook once the forensics results are out"

"Let's hope you're right"
