The usual happens after mum kisses Prim and myself goodbye on the head, Prim farewells our cat, and I head out with Prim to a typical day at school.
"Are you doing anything interesting," Prim asks me while we are walk through our area of District 12, The Seams. Unfoutnatly, living in The Seams was nothing to brag about, we were the poorest region in our district and most live in poverty. As if we haven't got enough problems in our hand already.
I see people walk past us, many of their body's as thin as sticks. With that in mind, a distinct breeze brushing against my face, filling my nostriles with the scent of used coal.
"I'm not completely sure," I reply, glancing at my sister. "Do you have anything interesting today?"
Prim shakes her and giggles. "Strange child," I think, grinning in amusement. "Well," begins Prim. "I do have a test today, about the time of the Dark Days." "Oh," I respond, not liking those two words. "That's interesting."
We walked the rest of the way silent, so silent, in fact, to the point it was getting fairly awkward. At last, we reached the school and parted our way, Prim hugging me tightly and myself wishing her luck on her test.
