it's short, but it just felt "right" to end it here.

Damn Rian.

Threatening him didn't work; he had just kept talking, mostly about how he felt Poppy should just give into her feelings of attraction toward him. Poppy wanted to make Rian feel something alright, a fist in the nose! She wasn't violent, but he was being an ass and deserved nothing more than a good kick in the shins.

Poppy has resorted to sleeping on the couch, it wasn't the most comfortable place to sleep in her apartment, but it was away from Rian. Tossing and turning to try and get comfortable had made up most of Poppy's night. Rian was a dead man for this. Watching the sunrise through the big windows in the living room, Poppy decided it was time to get her day started.

Setting about getting her shower, making a pot of coffee and finally digging out a half stale bagel, her morning was complete. It was complete; except for the fact she still had her annoying best friend asleep in her bed. Poppy had made as much noise as possible when she'd went in to get her things for a shower, but Rian slept through it. Her hopes were to make enough noise that with his assumed hang over, Rian would want to crawl in a dark cave and die.

Why was he her best friend anyway?

As Poppy sat and pondered the question, she was interrupted by someone moving about down the hall. Since Ainsley wasn't home, no shock there, it could only be Rian.

"Good morning, Pops." Rian said walking into the kitchen.

It was nice to see he still hadn't found his clothing, only clad in his underwear that hugged to every part of his lower body. Poppy gulped down her coffee, she was seeing way more than she needed to see for eight am. Scratching his chest, Rian grinned at her, raising his eyebrows in question. Clearing her throat, Poppy went back to her breakfast, if you ignored something it usually went away.

Ignoring Rian wasn't going to help; clearly he was not going to go away. Pulling up a seat next to Poppy, Rian grabbed the untouched half of her bagel and took a bite. Glaring at him, Poppy gasped in horror and disgust as he took her coffee cup next. He could get his own, there was no need to drink hers.

"If someone asked me if I love you, I still wouldn't tell them no." Rian commented, sitting Poppy's coffee cup down again.

Here they went...again.

"I know what you're doing." Poppy commented moving away slightly. "You're trying to make me crazy. I will not let you do that to me."

"I'm trying to tell you, even sober; I still really like you and want a chance." Rian replied, moving closer.

Fantastic! Now she was literally trapped between a wall and a...a...Rian Dawson. He smelled like Jack, not Barakat because normally he smelled really nice, no he smelled like Jack as in Daniels. The smell was intoxicating in a good and bad way, if he got any closer Poppy felt as though she'd drop dead from the smell of him. Rian didn't seem to notice or care, because he just kept coming. Closer and closer he came. If he got her cornered, Rian knew she'd give in.

He knew her too well and that was not fair. Poppy had a crush on Rian from the minute she was sat behind him in home room senior year. The shit head used it to his advantage too. How did Rian know so much about Poppy anyway? Sure they had been best friends for a few years, but it didn't mean he had to know everything about her.

"I really do have a crush on you." Rian confessed. "And I know you have one on me."

That jerk!

Opening her mouth to protest, Poppy squealed half in upset and half in pure delight as Rian kissed her. Right there, in her kitchen, he kissed her. Wrapping her arms around his neck, Poppy leaned into his bare torso. She kissed him back, which would probably come back to bite her in the ass later but she didn't care right now.

Rian Dawson had kissed Poppy Kessler!

And this was so grade ten of Poppy to be freaking out on the inside, like some crazy school girl. Oh how she had waited for this to happen. Since the day she walked into that class room and sat down, she had wanted this. Poppy really didn't want this to end, neither did Rian.

He could get used to waking up to this, annoying her every chance he got during the day and then climb into bed with her at night. They could wake up, day after day, to do it all over again.

"You're a good kisser, Poppy Kessler." Rian chuckled, breaking the kiss with a smirk.

"You're an ass, Rian Dawson." Poppy replied with a giggle.

"You rock, Poppy Kessler. Never forget it."
