I woke up to the sounds of the bustling city below me. Yawning , I stood up and quickly walked to my dresser. Every day, I would look around the permanent fair. Today would be no expectation. But first, school. Out o of all luxuries my father could ha e left for me, it was a scholarship to be able to go to school.
I'd rather he had just left me the money.

I threw on my white tunic with the red overlay and pants. I looked around the house before leaving.
I checked the kitchen then the bedroom. No noise. No one.Home alone, again.

Mum was at work. It was unusual, yes, but had to be done. As it was the
fifthtenth century and women were not normally working. Not that I believe in that! I love
women! I believe in equality and when I become the King of France, I'll make it fair.
Well I probably won't be king, but eh.

Dad had been killed years ago, that is why she has to work. That's why my mom, who deserves
the world is forced to slave over work. Not that I miss the man. I just wish he did something useful.
Honestly it was good riddance. He was never around, serves him right to be taken by a siren's song.

Well since was I home alone, no one was here to stop me from going out. I laughed to myself, one day missed wouldn't hurt anything. They never did attendance. Just bible studies and copying old books in Latin. Who need that crap?Honestly, they should teach us how to fight, now that would be cool!

I opened my door and saw the doorway across from mine open. Great my lame neighbor.

A bright looking lad came out, blue eyes shining. "Hello neighbor!" He said with a bright grin.

"Hello Tubbo," I grumbled in response.

"Where are you going? School doesn't start for an hour?....Don't tell me you're skipping again?"

"Shhh!" I held a finger to his lip. "Not so loud! But maybe. What of it? You gunna tell?" I asked, crossing my arms.

"Of course not!" He said. Tubbo added with a small smirk, "If you let me come along." I never thought he could be this devious. I'm actually quite proud.

I groaned. "Oh my goodness, you're so clingy!" I started walking away, but stopped. "You coming or not?"

He grinned, "Of course, sorry."

Soon we where walking, the dirt flying up with each step. It smell horrid, probably due to the public bathrooms. It was quite scare as it was very early. Then I heard it.

The gentle patter of feet on cold stone along with the jingling of bracelets and a soft strum of an instrument . He was here.

I grabbed Tubbo's arm and started to run towards the noise. "Come one! We may miss him!"

"Who?" The other asked while being dragged along.

I sighed, did he really not know? As we approached him, I told him about the person in front of us. He was rather tall, perhaps a few years older than us. He had light brown hair and dark eyes. His right wrist and ankles both had bracelets upon them. He would sing and play the lute and for some reason, all the girls would gravitate towards him. It was strange. I tried to sing like that once and all the girls ran away.

Everyday, he would come to the center to sing and dance. The weird thing was, no one knew where he came form. His clothes where nice, but he didn't look noble. Also, no one knew where he went after his shows. Everyone just assumed he was a gyspy.

We approached and watched from the back. He was singing a song about some girl and playing his instrument. I tapped my foot along to the beat as Tubbo swayed slightly to the side.

As soon as the song needed, he just grabbed his stuff and put them in a trunk. He just smiled and said, "Nobody touch it please. That's stuff is rather important to me. See you guys tomorrow!"

Then he just walked away! I started to walk towards the box, but felt compelled to  not touch it. But why? It was as if my body was rejecting the idea. I tried once again to feel the old leather case, but again I couldn't.

"Where is he from?" I wondered out loud. The trunk looked foreign.

"Why don't we find out?" A voice said behind me. I jumped slightly. "Tubbo! You need to stop doing that! Also what do you mean?"

"What I said. Let's just follow him. Then we can ask."

I was silent for a moment, "That's...actually not a bad idea. I'm surprised." He grinned, proud of himself.

That's how we ended up following the music boy. We followed him through the fair and into the market place. And from there to the edge of town. He stopped next to a lake that connected to a long winding river.

"Why did he stop?"

"I don't know. Didn't he know that river goes into the forbidden forest?" Tubbo responded. No one was aloud in. Everyone who made it out was killed by the king. But only one person has ever made it out. I turned back to town, or where I thought it was.

"Oh my goodness!" Tubbo exclaimed. I tuned around. But the man was gone.

"Where did he-"

"He jumped into the water, the disappeared! " My eyes widened as I ran up to the bank of the river. There was nothing.

"Huh?" I wondered. Then there was a face in the water. Then two arms came up from the water. Two deep brown eyes stared back for a moment. Then two arms came above to surface and dragged me  down with them. "Tubbo! Help!" I yelled before being taken under.

I looked at thing holding me. It had patches of scales and gills. It looked like a large fish, but the upper half was the music boy.

What have I gotten into this time?

Oh yeah, my name is Tommyinnit, and this is the story of how me and my best friend got adopted by a bunch of mythological creatures.

Sorry it's bit sloppy, this is just the set up. But new book Pog! Thanks for reading
