We begin with the first chapter to continue the love story of Can Divit and Sanem Aydin beyond the end of the series of "Erkenci Kus".  Instead of placing Sanem at the train station as she was in the series, she is at the airport ready to leave for the Galapagos.

**********

Sanem is leaving for the Galapagos. She has had enough and her heart is completely shattered. After all the obstacles she and Can had been through and triumphed over, this was the unexpected. He did not remember her. And worse than that, it seemed he did not want to remember. So she has decided to go and follow her dream of writing and living in the Galapagos. She will pour her heart into a new and tragic novel in peace and solitude. She has also finally had enough of the interference of other people. Yes, they loved her and tried to protect her, but they did not understand her.

Never had she imagined such pain could exist as she thought of Can's empty eyes looking at her like a stranger. That was the worst of it. He had always looked at her with such longing, with passion, with love that reached all the way to her spirit. Now she sat on the rocks by the sea, where she and Can had spent many defining moments together, for one last good-bye before she leaves. It seemed only fitting to spend her last moments here, alone, before it was time to catch her flight. To begin again, a new life.

Emre prayed Can would take his call. He breathed a sigh of relief as Can answered his phone. He told him Sanem was leaving, but he could find her on their rocks by the bay.

The sun was bright and high in the sky, causing diamonds to sparkle on the water. The air was fragrant with blooming flowers mixing together with the salty air. The sea blew a gentle breeze to dance through Sanem's hair, lifting shiny tendrils to dance about her head as she rested her chin on her knees. Her arms were wrapped around her legs as she stared out across the water. Tears ran freely down her face as her thoughts swirled together through her photographic memory, tormenting her mind.

She could clearly visualize every moment with Can, from the first kiss in the dark on the balcony of the Opera House, brought together as if by fate, connected like a magnet that pulls its mate to snap together, making it almost impossible to pull apart. Every moment since then flashing through her mind from that first moment. Now she sits here, waiting to leave for a completely different life...alone. Even now, she knew she would never love anyone the way she loves Can. He was her other half, the missing part of her.

Can watched her for many moments, his own heart pounding, his breath catching in his chest, as he slowly approached. He could not help but feel he had been here before. He could not stand that she was leaving, that she was crying, that he could see she was shattered sitting there looking out to the sea. It tore at his soul like claws ripping him to shreds.

Sanem did not see him coming... but she felt him. She sat up straight feeling the change in the atmosphere and as he approached, feeling that magnetic pull. Trying to hide her tears, she tried to pull herself together and dry her face. Her throat was tight, threatening to choke her. Before Can could say anything, she spoke as he sat down beside her, so close she could feel his heat radiating and warming her.

"It has been said that in the beginning humans were androgynous, a combination of both male and female, making each person whole. Wanting to weaken the humans, Zeus, the Greek God of the sky and King of the Gods, decided to cut each in two. The severed humans were miserable, each one longed for its other half, each always seeking the half that matches him. When a person meets the half that is his very own...some call them a twin flame, a soul mate... something magical happens... the two are joined back together by love, by a sense of belonging to one another, and by desire. They don't want to be separated from one another, not even for a moment. I cannot explain how, but I know this is my attachment to you. Like a magnet is my pull to be loved, wanted, desired by you, it consumes me... and I am driven to return these to you. It seemed that we were greater than ourselves, destined, designed to be a part of each other... my 'other half' inseparable once again."
