It was getting close to Winter Break, of course I would be staying. For the ball. I wanted to ask Pansy so bad, but like what if she said no, or if she had another date. You know what, I'm going to do it. If she rejects me I am just going to say I meant as friends. Yeah, thats believable. It was the middle of the day just before lunch, I didn't have class, I had a free period. Luna on the other hand was in Muggle Studies with Pansy. I decided to try and take a quick nap, but my nerves kept me up. I really wanted her to say yes. I decided to just stroll around the castle instead. I found myself outside the library, shocking I am always here. I walk in and start browsing the shelves to find something to read, something short. When I was going to reach for a book that interested me, I felt a hand come over mine and looked to see who it was. It was Hermione. She was blushing, that peculiar. "Hey mione." I say absent mindlessly. "Oh hey y/n!" She says. I take my hand off the book and turn to her, only now noticing how close we were (sorry nothing happens between you 2 right now just mione has a crush on you) I quickly apologize and back up. "Uhm-" I stuttered,"you can take the book I don't need it, I can find something else." I say. "Are you sure, I can always find something else as well." Hermione asks. "No its good you can take the book, its okay." I laugh a little while saying. Hermione still had a blush on her face.
-Time Skip-
Luna had just gotten out of Muggle Studies and was talking to Pansy. I catch up to them and Luna says hello, Pansy hugs me and whispers in my ear,"I missed you." I blush,"Aw Pans we were only sway from each other for and hour." I smile. "An hour to long." Luna clear her throat," I am going to leave you lovebirds alone and go find Ginny. See ya later" I wave and nervously look at Pansy. This is my chance. "What wrong, y/n? You look like you have seen a ghost." Pansy asks concerned. "Oh nothing, I was just wondering... IfmaybeyouwantedtogototheballwithmeIgetitifyoudon't." I say really fast. "Woah slow down there princess." Pansy says. I blush at the pet name, and take a deep breath in. "I was just wondering if maybe you wanted to go the ball with me." I say and look down. Some how my shoes have become really interesting. Pansy puts her finger under my shin and makes me look at her. "Of course I want to go to the ball with you." I let a breath I didn't even know I was holding and quickly pull her into a hug, she quickly hugs me back. "Thank you." I mumble into her shoulder, since she is taller than me. "For what?" She asks. "For making me happy again." I say and pull her closer. She holds me tighter and says," Of course Y/N I lo- you're my best friend." That word best friend hurt. I know it shouldn't, but it did. I pull out of the hug. Pansy looks at me curiously. "You're my best friend too." I say trying to hold back tears. I swear when I said those words, I saw a flash of hurt come over her features. But as quickly as it was there it was gone. "I have to go catch up with Blaise, to work on Potions homework, I'll catch you later?" Pansy asks. "Yeah of course." I say. I pull into a short quick hug, she hugs back. I let her go and I head back to my dorm before going to lunch.
-At lunch-
I was sitting with Luna, I had been crying. I know that word "bestfriend" shouldn't hurt so bad, but it does. Maybe she doesn't like me like I like her. Of course Luna notices and asked why my eyes are red and puffy. "I'm high" I say to get her off my back, but that didn't work she didn't believe me. "You only smoke cigarettes and those don't get you high, I'm not a dumbass. You've been crying, why?" Luna asks while holding my hand. "No reason, I just got a wave of sadness." I say. Luna looks at me weird, but lets it slide. I quickly finish my food sense I have D.A.D.A soon with the Gryffindor's soon. I'm in the advance class, so the only other person I know it that class is Hermione.
-In D.A.D.A-
I find my seat right next to Hermione, since we share a desk, and are usually partners on all our assignments. She blushes when I sit down, but I pretend not to notice. "Hey, how was lunch?" I ask her. "Wha- Oh it was good." She replies going redder. "Did you do the assignment?" I ask again trying to make conversation. "Of course I did." Hermione responds almost as if she is offended I asked her that question. "My bad princess, just asking a question." I say while laughing at how sensitive she could be. Hermione is bright red by this point. "I'm sorry. I never wanted to come off as rude." Hermione says apologetically. "Its oka-." Before I could finish my sentence Professor Lupin, my dad walks in.
-After D.A.D.A-
"Y/N wait!" Hermione shouts after me. I turn around and she collides into me. Resulting with me on the floor, her on top of me. She starts to scuttle to get off of me. Once she collects herself snd her books, she helps me up. "Sorry about that" She says while blushing once again. "Its all good I say. Did you want to ask me something?" I ask. "Oh! Yeah I was wondering if you had a date to the ball?" I look at her sadly. "Mione I'm sorry, but yes I have a date to the ball, but hey you kind find someone so much prettier then me." Hermione looks down. "I should have asked you earlier, I knew you would have a date, yo have every guy and girl swooning over you." She says while tears brim her eyes, thinking I don't notice them she tries to hide her eyes. "Hey look at me, even though we don't talk a lot outside of class we should go to Hogsmeade sometime." I say trying to cheer her up, and it did the trick. She hugged me tightly and said," Yes! I would love too." I hug her back and say, "Ok just tell me whenever you are free, also I got to go and meet up with Luna before heading to astronomy, catch you later." I say while letting her go from the hug. She lets go soon after and nods. "Bye bye y/n can't wait to hang out with you!" She says excitedly. "Bye Mione, and I can't wait either."

AN: I am going to try and make more chapters like this, anyways tell me if you like the little love triangle I have going on. I know this is a Pansy x Reader, so obviously they will end up together, but there has to be a little bit of spice. Am I right?
