Elektra.
"I'm so tired." I moaned again as we walked through the desert. We weren't lost though, we were following the telephone power line. We had no idea when they would end, but they were our only hope of getting back to civilisation. The boy who Dad, Ryan and Rob had saved groaned as he was most likely annoyed at me because I couldn't stop moaning. I had ripped off the bottom half of my black, vest top, turning it into a sort of crop top and had tied the bottom half around my head to catch my sweat. "I know, baby. Come on." Dad said, slowing down a little to walk alongside me and the boy, whose name I still had not learned. We had left our base to avoid being killed by a huge robot, but now it seemed we were going to die from starvation and exhaustion."Come on, lets rest for a minute." Ryan said, noticing how tired I was. Dad sighed and nodded. "Alright, rest up for a couple of minutes." Dad told everyone, everyone sat down. Tired and aching. I sat next to Ryan, my head resting on his shoulder. We were all silent, until Rob began looking at the camera. "I've never seen a weapon system like this before." He said, we all glanced at him. "You got a picture of it?" Dad asked Rob, Rob nodded and Dad walked over to him. "It looks as if it's been protected by some kind of invisible force field." Dad said, frowning as he glanced over Rob's shoulder at the picture. "That's impossible. There's not such things as invisible force fields except for in comic books and stuff. Right?" A soldier asked as and Dad took the camera from Rob, looking at the picture closely. "Man, I don't know. My mamma, she had the gift. And well, you know, she saw things. I got the gene to and that thing that attacked us? I got a feeling it ain't over." Another solider said. "Well use your weird voodoo powers to get us out of here, eh?" Another solider said. Rob seemed troubled and glanced up at us all. "When I took that picture, I think it saw me. It looks right at me." Rob said as everyone fell silent. Ryan rolled his eyes and sighed. "Shut up, you're freaking El out." Ryan said, draping an arm around my shoulder as I chewed my bottom lip. "Right, we gotta get this thing back to the Penagon right away, okay? They gotta know what we're dealing with here." Dad said, changing the subject. We all nodded and began standing up and getting ready to move again. "There's no communications ariel." Rob told us, I sighed and sat back down. That meant it would take even longer and I wanted all the rest I could get. Dad turned to the boy they had saved. "How far do you live from here?" Dad asked him, the boy pointed. "Not far. Just up that mountain." The boy told him. "Do you have a phone?" Dad asked, the boy nodded and Dad sighed. "Alright, lets hit it." He said as we all stood back up and began to walk.

Finally, after what seemed like forever. We got to a telephone line. "Finally!" I said loudly as Ryan let me slide down his back until my feet hit the hot sand. He had offered to give me a piggyback as I was tired and I hadn't wasted any time in accepting his offer. I sat down on the sand. Rob poured a pan of water of his head. "I just hope this telephone line works." Dad said with a sigh. I nodded and began fiddling with my fingers out of boredom, suddenly, I felt the sand beneath me move. I frowned and quickly stood up and looked at the sand I had been sat on, it was completely still. I glanced at everyone else, they were getting on with things as usual. I met eyes with Ryan, who frowned when he saw the look on my face. "What's wrong, El?" He asked me, causing everyone to glance over at me. I opened my mouth to say something, but then shut it. I was just tired. I shook my head.
Suddenly shouts and calls from the soldiers eruptted and a hinge of the telephone line broke, I turned around to see the structure falling towards me. At that moment, I froze out of fear. I tried to move but my feet felt as if they were glued to the hot sand. "Elektra, move!" Dad shouted, but I couldn't. I screamed as the sign came falling towards me and the next thing I knew, I was on the floor, Dad by my side. I quickly sat up, my breathing heavy as I glanced at the structure, it had landed right where I had been stood a few seconds before. Ryan ran over, helping me to my feet as Dad stood up himself. "Are you okay?" Dad asked me. I nodded, unable to say anything as I continued to stare the sign. "What the heck was that?" A soldier asked as he looked at the sign. I didn't say anything and turned to face my Dad. My mouth hung open as some sort of robot tail point was pointing straight at the back of his head, the other end of it was inside the sand.
