"Who are these assholes?" The now replaced umbrella academy turned around to see a breathing and blood on the opposite side of his skin Ben along with 5 other people posing at the top of the stairs. It had been 10+ years since his accident, they all were astounded, for once not arguing, as the one question pounded inside their heads; "What the hell did we do now?" As soon as they had their quote un-quote "family reunion" The also very much alive Reginald Hargreeves coughed and the umbrella siblings turned to see him pull off his monacle and pull out a white handkerchief.
"Now, Grace dear." Just like that, the very much operating Grace Hargreeves appeared with a feather duster in her hand "Yes Reggie?" She asked with a smile. "I would like you to prepare the acadmy's dinner early, we have company tonight." She nodded and ushered sparrow Ben from behind the couch. "Downstairs please!" She shouted to the other members sweetly and off they went down the stairs in a single file line along with a floating green cube and followed their robotic mother, making sure to make faces and smirk at the umbrella academy. As soon as the door behind the line closed, Number five, the eldest yet youngest of the group finally spoke.
"What the hell is this?" He stepped forward to Hargreeves as he placed his monacle back on his left eye and pocketed the handkerchief. "Well, after our 'family dinner' back in 1963, I was a little disappointed in you after I wasted years of hard work for 7 excuses for a 'super hero family', as you all put it." They all looked at each other. "So when October 1, 1989 came, I adopted 7 children and created the sparrow academy. They aren't anything like you at all and have grown up into a fine team." Five still couldn't believe it. "What do you mean 7, I counted 6." Luther piped in. The rest of the team didn't groan because he was right, only 6 children followed Grace to the informal kitchen. As soon as he spoke his last word, a girl came rushing down the stairs putting her hair up in a ponytail and her blazer around her waist. "Number 5 is that you?" Reginald asked looking down at his pocket watch, "Still with the numbers, aren't we?" Diego uttered as Five quickly whipped around to see a dark haired girl with tan skin and suddenly everything around him slowed down around him and he could see every detail, even with the sun in his eyes. Her average height yet small frame and her curly yet straight hair being pulled out of her face. It was like a fairy tale for 4 year olds yet this one was his favorite of them all.
"Five!" Suddenly everything stopped and sped up again as Allison was waving a hand in his face and chanting his name as the girl walked up behind the couch "Who are you shit heads?" She asked, clearly insulted as she untied her now wrinkled blazer and slid it back on her shoulders. "Never mind that, where were you?" Reginald asked, clearly infuriated. Everyone in the room knew that tone of voice, everyone but the 2 fives walked back and all cramed on the couch. Male five was still following the female five as she stomped towards Reginald. "I told Ben..." She trailed off to see him raising his brow "I told number 2" She corrected, " To hold off a minute longer but he didn't listen because he thinks he's the leader." He shook his head and she groaned loudly then turned to see the practically drooling male five. "Who are you?" She asked with disgust, he straightened up and fixed his tie and collar, "I'm f-five" He stuttered, she raised an eyebrow at his response, "Well sorry f-five!" She mocked raising her tone, "But that's me, I'm five. Not you." She pushed him his shoulder, "Not your little troupe over there!" She gestures to the rest of the academy all bunched up on the couch still, five rolled his eyes. "Just me. Or do you think you can make me turn the same color as your stupid little sweater vest?" She pointed to his chest which made five's ears turned slightly pink as he raised an eyebrow, "I have done things your pea sized brain would not even be able comprehend." He took a step towards her as she backed away slightly, "So I suggest you go follow your little circus clowns and stay out of my way" She scoffed at his response, "Why don't you make me, little boy." She sneered
That's when Klaus, the some how sober one of the group pushed himself up and got behind male five "You know," He circled him to face the girl, "You should really learn how you respect your elders little girl." He smiled, she looked at Klaus then five, "Time travel." She rolled her at his response but looked to Reginald for backup just to see him nod in agreement. "Well I'll be damned." She looked at everyone else on the couch and even they nodded. "Well...let me know when they need clothes." She uttered before leaving and heading downstairs. "Well, now that she's out of the way." Klaus sat back on the arm of the couch, "Back to business" Reginald nodded and five turned back to Reginald, "Well, you can stay here since, since technically in another reality you are still my children." He started pacing "I will allow you to stay." He stopped, "Not for free of course." Five groaned, "How much?" He asked and Reginald began pacing again, "An hour a day." He stepped towards a side table and opened a black box with gold accents and pulled out a red journal with his intials on it. "It seems the powers of the sparrow academy mirror your own." He flipped through the book "With a few twists of course." Diego pushed Klaus on the floor to stand up, "We aren't personal trainers." He said and every one nodded in agreement, "Yes, I see that." He slammed the book shut, "But now they are older. What ever training I'm doing isn't taking and they aren't children anymore. Nowadays, I can barely keep up and can't get them to carry out orders."
The umbrella academy still didn't like the idea of training the children who replaced them but their position seemed better than when they were in the academy. Five looked back on his siblings who were desperate and not in the best shape. Unless a million dollars rained from the sky, this was their only option or it was off to the streets. "Fine." He said then looked back at Reginald. "We'll train your precious sparrow academy." Reginald nodded in thanks, "But on our terms" Reginald sighed, "We'll talk more over dinner." The umbrella academy sighed but stood up as Reginald turned to the mantle. "Your old rooms are down stairs so everything you need, will be there." Everyone looked at each other, the words 'old rooms' was a surprise but they dropped it and followed Five down the stairs, past the kitchen, past the sparrow academy and went into Klaus' room. "Is anyone suspicious with the fact that dad said "your old rooms" because I could have sworn this was the sparrow academy now" Klaus said, "Unless it was a flop and those where the backup plans." Luther said, "Yeah but..." Klaus started, Diego nodded, "For once, I agree with Klaus. The fact that our old rooms are still down here and that they seem to be exactly as they were before our 2019, doesn't really sit well with me."
"Well we can figure that all out later." Vanya spoke, "I'm with both Diego and Luther on this one, but right now this." She gestured to the room around them, "Is not our top priority." Five nodded, "She's right, our main goal is try undo whatever the hell happened here and go back to our 2019." Everyone sighed, "We don't even know what caused it." Allison says "Maybe it was your little diner fiasco with you husband." Diego uttered, "Guys, let's not do this now." Vanya groaned, "You turned a farm girl lesbian and gave a disabled boy powers." Klaus smirked, "You started a cult." Diego said, "Really? You wanna go there JFK?" Luther stepped up, "None of us were working with a future criminal!" Five yelled, "At least I didn't get into a fight with myself, opened a worm hole and pushed my 1963, 58 year old self into 2019 eight days before the original apcolypse!" Five gasped and stood quiet, he looked around and saw everyone staring at him, "That's got to be it." Diego whispered, "Now hold on!" Everyone started to stand and leave the room except for Vanya. "Really five?" She said holding back tears, she turned away from the panicked five as they reached the door way. "Stop!" He yelled, none of them did except Luther, he gulped and faced him, "I had to. I didn't want to but it was my last option." Luther rolled his eyes, "Well it was a stupid option." Five narrowed his eyes at him, "You agreed to come with me Luther!" Luther looked away, "Don't pin this back on me, it's not just my fault." Luther sighed, "Well it stands out." He turned away and walked out, leaving five alone again.
