hey everyone, or no one (cause honestly i doubt anyone will read this lol). i've been obsessed with reading weasley twin fanfiction recently, so i decided to write one! i'm in the middle of my freshman year of college so i'm not sure how much i'll update, but i will try to write every week! i haven't written on wattpad in over 3 years so this might be a rough start. also, this chapter is all backstory, the real story will start with the next chapter! enjoy :)

A tiny, light brown haired girl walked along the corridor of the moving scarlet machine.

Ariella (Ari) Goldman turned to face a slightly empty compartment, exactly 4 months after her 11th birthday. The day she got her letter for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was the best day of her life. Of course, she always knew she would attend Hogwarts. Her mother had gotten her letter on her 11th birthday, just like her grandmother and grandfather had. Her father, a muggle born wizard, was confused when receiving his Hogwarts letter on his 11th birthday, but was overjoyed when attending the school.

Ari heard many stories of her parents' adventures through their 7 years. How they met in potions class on the first day of their first term. Her mother, a Ravenclaw and the smartest in her class, had to tutor poor Jacob Goldman, a Hufflepuff, in every subject starting on that day. Being from a muggle family, Jacob had never heard of potions class, or transfiguration, or even the difference between a hippogriff and an eagle. Being the bright witch she is, Madeline Clark took it upon herself to teach the Hufflepuff everything she knew about the wizarding world, and after many years of friendship, they started to fall in love. And well, the rest is history.

Ari wished she could have a happy love story that her parents had had. She longed for a beautiful stay at Hogwarts, and wished that, for whatever reason why, she was not placed in Slytherin House. Her brother, Lukas, who was starting his 5th year in Hufflepuff, had told his sister many horror stories of Slytherin 7th years beating and hexing whoever joined the despicable house, all being quite false, but Ari, being quite a naive soul, believed every word her brother told her. She was scared.

But, standing outside a small compartment of the Hogwarts express, she faced two, completely identical young boys, both with fiery red hair, and smirks containing silent laughter. She didn't know why she decided to stop in front of this compartment, but she was intrigued by the giggling misfits, and stepped foot through the door.

"Hey Georgie, we have a new friend!" One of the twins pointed to Ari, who was standing quite awkwardly in the doorway.

The one who she thought was George looked up from whatever was on his lap, smiled and said, "Why hello there. Are you new to Hogwarts too? Come sit!" Ari sat next to George and extended her hand to the other twin. "Hi, I'm Ari. Goldman. Yeah."

Even after her weak attempt to make friends, the twin took her hand and shook it fiercely, "I'm Fred Weasley, and this is George! We're twins," Fred kept shaking Ari's hand, which made George burst into laughter.

Soon enough, the compartment was filled with giggles, and conversation about family and what houses the 3 wished to be in. After a while, the train slowed down and the 3 new friends walked out on to the hogwarts platform.

"Firs years this way!" A booming voice echoed over the heads of the small 11 years olds. Ariella wasn't sure what to expect but looked up at the half giant (no one knew this yet), and smiled at the mans friendliness.

As they exited the boats and walked up into the castle, Ari couldn't help but admire the stonework and architecture of the grand castle. She always loved looking at buildings, her father, who had designed many wizarding facilities in England, had told her to look closely at the craftsmanship and work of the most fascinating ones, but out if all of the works she had seen in her life, Hogwarts was probably the most amazing building she had seen.

Up the steps the first years met the familiar face of Minerva McGonagall, and Ari waved politely to her family friend and Godmother. The middle aged witch led them to a large hall filled with astonished faces, excited to see the new comers get placed into their houses. The woman stopped in front of a stool with a ugly battered hat. McGonagall cleared her throat, very loudly, and the hat blinked, took a deep breath, and started to sing his song.

The great hall filled with an atrocious amount of applause as the hat finished and took a slight bow. McGonagall now stood in front of the first years with a roll of parchment in her hand. One after another, students began to take their seats at the 4 house tables. After about 5 names, Ari heard "Goldman, Ariella" and proceeded to wobble nervously to the crooked hat.

On her head, the hat gave a tiny "Mhhhhhmm" and then he began to speak in her ear. "You have talent, wit, just like your mother, but your humbleness and loyalty resides with Hufflepuff." There was a slight pause, "Mhhh yes, I see. You have a great deal of courage when it comes to the ones you love, and lots of energy to stand up for what is right."

After a few more minutes, but what felt like hours with all the eyes staring at Ari, the hat gave a quick cough and yelled "GRYFFINDOR!"

Ari was so surprised that she forgot to stand up and take off the hat. The room was applauding, the Gryffindor table standing up to welcome their new member. Ari finally stood up and looked over to Fred and George, still standing in the clump of first years, and gave them a smile as they winked and gave her a high five. As she sat down at the overjoyed house table, she notice McGonagall had given her a grateful nod. Ari was happy.

Soon, the table was filled with the rest of Gryffindor first years, including Fred and George, Lee Jordan, Angelina Johnson, and Alicia Spinnet. Ari looked around at the table with a satisfactory grin. Even though her brother on the Hufflepuff table was a bit mellow dramatic with Ari's placing, he walked over to give his sister a huge hug in congratulations, which overfilled Ari with so much joy.

Sitting in between the two Weasley twins, Ari couldn't help but get excited for her next 7 years with the two troublemakers on either side of her. She couldn't wait.
