The after-party was nothing we'd ever seen before. Actual people were showing up. It was held at a house that didn't look like it could be classified as a mansion but was still pretty big. We go inside to see the Mackenzie Falls cast and some of their (I assume) friends.
Everyone breaks off and goes their separate ways.
I head upstairs, looking for a nice, quiet place to think. I found a balcony overlooking a beautiful garden.
I started thinking of the kiss I had with Chad tonight. It was... magical... I can't believe it. After all these years, I might still have feelings for him... No, no, no, no! He has a GIRLFRIEND! No way am I getting involved with that man.
I begin pacing the balcony as I massage my temples when suddenly Chad walks out, "Hey Sonny." I jump back a bit, "Oh! Hi, Chad!" I frantically sputter out. Chad chuckles at me before walking over to the edge of the balcony and leaning on it.
Chad looks up at the sky. He's so... quiet. Surprisingly, he isn't taking this time to talk about himself like he would've done five years ago. I stand beside him and touch his shoulder, "Is everything okay, Chad?" I ask. Chad sighs, "... Yeah. What makes you ask that?" He shoots a playful look at me. Am I... blushing??
I turn around and look up at the night sky. Chad soon follows. "Beautiful night isn't it?" Chad asks. I giggle, "Yeah, it reminds me of our first date." I snort out. Chad and I laugh as we reminisce over the horrible, but thoughtful date. Our laughs calm down as we go back to the awkward vibe that's been around since we saw each other again.
I look down at my hands, "Chad... it doesn't have to be awkward between us... we can be friends, right?" I ask. Chad scoffs, "Of course, Sonny! I mean... we dated years ago. We can be friends again." Chad holds out his hand and we shake on it, "To friendship." We say in unison.
Suddenly, Savanna appears on the balcony, "Hey Chad..." she says in a slightly seductive tone. Chad replies, "Oh hey, Savanna."
"Can you get me something to drink?" Savanna asks. Chad nods as he walks off, leaving me and Savanna alone on the balcony. Savanna looks at Chad until he disappears into the crowd.
Savanna whips her head to face me, "I don't know what you're trying to do Sonny, but Chad is mine! You can wreck this home. Chad is not going back to you!"
I'm taken aback by Savanna's sudden change in tone, "Oh my god Savanna. I- I couldn't dream of getting back with Chad-"
"Yeah right! I saw that kiss tonight. If you so much as even think about him, I'll see to it that your whole CAREER is ruined! Do you hear me?" I nod my head and back up.
Savanna snaps right back to her fake angelic self as Chad appears with her drink, "I forgot to ask if you wanted one, Sonny." Chad chuckles. Savanna grabs the drink from Chad and gives me a devious look, "Sonny was just leaving. Right, Sonny?" Savanna makes it sound more like a command than a question. I timidly nod and hurry out of the balcony and into the loud crowds.
The house is so big I'm getting lost at every corner. Suddenly, I ran into a tall man with tanned skin. With his low, gravelly voice he asks me, "Oh? Are you ok?" I feel my cheeks heat up as I back away to take a good look at this man.
"T-tall..." I manage to sputter out. The guy laughs at me, "Hi, I'm Oliver. And you are?" I rub the back of my neck, "I-I'm Sonny." Oliver grabs my arm, "You gotta see this, Sonny."
Oliver drags me off to a room that looks like a private library. He drags me to the back and pulls a book off the shelf. Suddenly, a huge display dedicated to Chad pops out. I giggle, "How did you find this, Oliver?" I ask. "Chad won't shut up about his secret display in his home," Oliver explains.
Oliver grabs some of Chad's old props and tosses me a few, "Wanna make fun of Chad for a bit?" He asks. "Aren't you on Chad's crew? Like... aren't you supposed to be on Chad's side or whatever?" I ask. Oliver sighs, "If I liked the guy I would defend him. Come on let's do this."
Oliver and I pretend to be Chad for a bit. Suddenly, we hear the door to the library open.
Suddenly, we hear a mysterious voice, "He doesn't have to know". Oliver pulls me into a corner and covers my mouth. We peek from behind the bookshelf to see Savanna talking to some guy. "I don't know Savanna. Won't Chad be pretty pissed if he found out about this?" Savanna laughs, "Shut up and kiss me."
Olivier and I look at each other as our jaws drop. We both don't like Chad, but man, that's cruel. Savanna and her 'boy-toy' begin to move around the library. In a moment of panic Oliver and I back up in hopes we'll find an exit. Suddenly, we activate a trap door and we move to another balcony.
"Holy shit!" I exclaim. Oliver lets out a sigh, "W-wh.. ah!" He exclaims. I giggle, "Yeah, I don't know what to do either." I state. Oliver and I look at each other and shrug it off, "Well... I guess it's his problem." Oliver nonchalantly states.
I look up at the night sky and I study all of the stars. I never looked into astrology so looking for the Big Dipper and the Little Dipper is not as easy as you might think. Oliver scoots closer to me and leans down, "See those two stars near each other over there? They connect to those which then form the Big Dipper." I quietly giggle, "Wow... what else do you know?" I ask.
Oliver points to a new spot in the sky, "Not too far behind is the Little Dipper." I look over at Oliver, "You're my Big Dipper tonight because wherever you go, I'm not far behind." I state. Oliver puts his arm around me, "I like that, Little Dipper. It's a cute little nickname."
I giggle and lean into Oliver's very muscular chest. "I like your laugh," Oliver says. I look up at Oliver as I study his face, "I like... how smart you are." I tell him.
Suddenly Oliver and I are standing up straight, face to face, we're going on a back-and-forth complimenting spree. Are faces get closer and closer it's a miracle we haven't kissed yet. Suddenly the secret door opens and there stands Zora. Oliver and I jump away from each other at the sight of her and immediately begin laughing it off.
Zora walks up to us, "What are you guys doing out here?" She asks. "We could ask the same about you," I tell Zora.
Zora squeals, "This house is full of secrets! I accidentally found this place when I was wandering around in the vents. It's a very touchy pressure plate, amateur design." Oliver and I exchange looks.
Zora sighs, "Well whatever, the party's coming to an end you might wanna hurry up and get out of here so you don't end up cleaning. And I'm pretty much your way out." Oliver and I look at each other once again and shrug.
We follow Zora out to the entrance as we say our goodbyes.
Oliver and I look at each other almost exactly like we did on the balcony, "Well if you ever wanna continue the conversation here's my number." Oliver pulls out a pen and writes his number on my hand.
Oliver winks at me before he walks off in the opposite direction.
I'd say tonight was a total success.
