Next Up Forever~ -A Soudam Story- (Rebooted)

~Chapter 1~

Kazuishi Souda sauntered through Hope's Peak Academy. The hallways dim from the upcoming storm building up outside. The Mechanic didn't have much of a mission. He was just attempting to rid his mind of thoughts he didn't want there. In other words, he was bored and didn't want to go to class.

"Seriously... Rain...?" Souda whined to himself. The storm just beginning to pick up the mid-fall leaves. The boy sighed, turning on his heel. Just as he did, Souda ran into a large mass. A hollow 'thump' echoed through the space. He shuffled backward, rubbing his forehead and grumbling to himself. Great! Another problem to deal with.

"Apologies, Mortal, is your head alright?"

Souda looked up, a low growl built up in his throat as he realized it was Gundham Tanaka he ran into. The taller boy wore a large black coat, the fabric reaching down to his ankles. His boots made him at least half an inch taller than he already was. Which Souda found aggravating. Everything Gundham did was enough to send him into a blind rage. Souda hated Gundham for one reason only. He is trying to keep Miss Sonia from him. It sounds stupid, but it's true. Miss Sonia is Souda's crush. Her pretty blue eyes and smooth blonde hair gave Souda a lot of different feelings. He only wanted her. And he was going to make sure she noticed him. But, those plans changed when Sonia asked Gundham to keep the Mechanic away from him.

"Yeah, I'm fine..." Souda snarled at the Breeder. His teeth baring, in an attempt to intimidate. The breeder raised his eyebrow (if he even had eyebrows) and crossed his arms. The expression on his meant he knew that Souda was going to try to talk him down. "Where'd ya come from anyway ya brute? Can ya teleport now or some shit?"

"No, I cannot. I just walked around the corner when you blindly ran into me,"

"Geez, you lie through your teeth..." Souda snarled.

"I have never lied in my life, mortal." Gundham raised an eyebrow once more at the flustered mechanic. Souda froze, and his expression switched into a surprised one. He growled and gripped the back of his head. Bunching his beanie in his fist. Gundham was still confused about what he had done to anger the mortal so much.

"Whatever! I don't care," Souda shouted at the taller boy. His voice echoed through the hallway. Gundham blinked a few times, wondering why the mechanic was being so dramatic. He chuckled, giving Souda a gentle and friendly smile. Then, he sauntered away without another word. Souda watched the breeder walk away. A flurry of emotion swarmed his head and he tilted his head to himself. Strangely, the way Gundham had smiled made Souda's cheeks flush, not just from anger. The steady thumps of his boots and the swish of his jacket and scarf were soothing to him.

"This is stupid..." he grumbled to himself. Everything was stupid. Gundham was stupid. His stupid hamsters were stupid. That stupid grin was stupid. Everything about Tanaka was stupid and Souda hated everything and anything about stupid and snarky Gundham Tanaka.

Souda turned on his heel, snarling at everything he saw on his way back to his dorm room that the school provided for him. He was super excited when they did because he only wanted to get away from his asshole father. And he was able to. But only for a few weeks at a time. His dad would call him back to the shop near the end of the month to 'help' him with how busy it got. There weren't very many people with bicycles anymore and it was just an excuse to make Souda run his stupid beer errands and be his punching ba, literally. Souda didn't like being pushed around, but what could he do? He can't do anything about it.
