Ashanti POV
I opened my locker and placed my books inside, noticing Melody approaching. She wore shorts, a crop top and heels, appearing totally at ease.
I hadn't spoken to Harden all week and I wouldn't even mention Tristan. Recently, I found a few underground fighting rings downtown to check out this weekend. I missed the adrenaline.
"Good morning." Melody greeted me with a smile and I nodded in response.
"Want to hang out this weekend at a club?" She tugged on my jacket, her eyes hopeful. <<< A/n - Outfit above >>> Her persistence reminded me of my sister.
"I'd rather not." I shook my head, closing my locker as she frowned. "Plus, I have other plans."
"Please, it's going to be great. Haven't you partied before?" She raised an eyebrow, teasing.
"A few times with my sister, but it never ends well." I shrugged, pushing away the particular memories.
"You have a sister?" She grinned, intrigued.
"Yeah, a twin, but she lives in another city." I leaned against my locker, glancing down the hall.
"I wish I had a sister. I'm an only child." Melody looked down at her nails. "We'd party on weekends and puke in the mornings, you know." She chuckled.
I smiled.
"You can be my next party head sister if you tell me more about yourself while following me to check out a place in town this weekend." I watched her face light up as she hugged me.
"Sure, I'd love that." She agreed, her embrace tight. "We can have pillow fights, go partying, shop and get drunk."
"Okay, you can let go now." I patted her back and she quickly released me with a small chuckle.
"Sorry, I'm just glad I met you." She stepped back, still smiling.
"So, you don't think I'm a bad influence?" I smirked, tilting my head as I looked at her.
"How bad could you be?" She chuckled.
"I'm starting to like you." I admitted, making her laugh.
"So, what do you want to check out in town this weekend?" She questioned.
"Something exciting." I replied, watching students pass by. Melody raised an eyebrow.
"You're not going to kill me, right?" She joked darkly.
"Seriously, Mel?" I laughed at her humor. She shrugged with a goofy smile, "I'm joking."
"How come you don't have any friends around here?" I wondered aloud. She seemed like the type to have a lot of friends.
She sighed. "Since that night, Ryan lied to me about how much he 'loved me' and took my virginity..."
"Everything changed. The whole school saw me as some cheap slut after Ryan told them he paid me a couple bucks for sleeping with him to win a bet, which I didn't know about until later." She continued, her voice heavy with regret.
"After he got me in his bed, he broke up with me and I was ruined. I loved to party back then and I still do now, but everyone sees me as a slut." She added, taking a deep breath and I stared at her.
"I was stupid for not taking revenge. But, he has the money and I have nothing, so I just put up with everyone calling me the school's slut." She shrugged, glancing at the students passing by.
"Well, you have me now." I playfully bumped my shoulder against hers. "I got your back as long as you got mine."
She smiled, nodding and suddenly there was a tap on my shoulder.
