Chapter One

Ashanti POV

"There's your sister." Samantha, my best friend, pointed out and I spotted my twin down the hall with my other best friend, Becca.

Claudia, my twin, is the captain of the cheer team; Samantha and Becca are also cheerleaders, except for me.

"You both seem a little too happy." Samantha observed as we stood together in the hallway.

"Claudia, what did you do?" I narrowed my light brown eyes.

"What do you mean, sis?" She responded, running her hand through her natural blonde hair, casually chewing gum.

We're identical twins, but our personalities set us apart. Claudia has dimples, which thankfully I don't have. I'm into combat sports while Claudia loves to dance and is a great singer.

"I smell trouble." I smirked, gently pulling on her ear. She chuckled.

Becca suddenly showed us a video on her phone of Claudia and Ken, the most popular boy in school. He was also Becca's ex-boyfriend who had cheated on her and Claudia had only decided to date him to get revenge for Becca.

"I love you more than any words can express, Claudia." The video starts with Ken touching her hair.

"Of course you do, silly." Claudia smiled, glancing down at a book in her lap. They were both sitting on a bench in the school's hall.

"I know it has been a month since we started dating and I know you love me as well." Ken chuckled, staring at her. "When we graduate, you can move in with me."

Claudia sighed.

"Ken, you're such a pain in the ass." She groaned as she stood up from the bench.

"W-what do you mean?" Ken stood up as well and they both received stares from students in the hall.

"Do you remember all the things you told me?" Claudia started, her voice steady. "The same things you used to tell Becca, before you cheated on her."

Claudia took a step closer to Ken. "Claudia, you're the prettiest girl I've ever seen." She mimicked.

"I can't imagine my life without you, Becca." She continued, her voice dripping with sarcastic sweetness.

"Every moment with you feels like a dream, Claudia." She said, fluttering her eyelashes exaggeratedly and placing a hand over her heart.

"I love you more than words can express, Becca." Claudia added, her tone shifting to mock sincerity as she placed a hand on her cheek and sighed theatrically.

"You complete me." She rolled her eyes, straightening up and then bursting into laughter. "A complete nuisance, I must say."

"You're an idiot to think I would ever love you after everything you did to her." She shrugged nonchalantly and Ken stared blankly at her. "Did you get that, Becca?"

Most students were also recording in the hallway, reacting with "oohs" and comments like "damn."

"I got the whole goddamn thing, girl." Becca moved closer with the camera, then stood beside Claudia while Ken looked speechless.

Claudia flicked her hair in Ken's face and began to walk away. Becca zoomed in on Ken's face.

"You're a bitch, Claudia!" Ken started to yell at the camera, and she laughed.

"At least I'm not your bitch, Ken!"
