A/N: Is this based on the show? Maybe. Look, I just got inspired, okay? Okay. Also, quick warning this is sad as hell.

"Miss Richardson, can you please tell us what was your sentimental relationship with JJ Maybank?" the D.A. stared at you harshly.

Your mind was gone, remembering him when his name was brought to the conversation.

"Miss Richardson answer the question," the judge ordered.

"He was my boyfriend," you gulped.

"Did you love him?"

"Objection, relevance!" your lawyer yelled across the courtroom.

"Everything will make sense while Miss Richardson answers the questions," the D.A. responded.

"Overruled," the judge allowed him to continue the questions.

"Yes, I uh- I loved him, more than I loved myself,"

"Did Mister Maybank ever mention he was abused by his father?"

"Hardly ever,"

"So during a one-year relationship, Mister Maybank never mentioned any physical altercation he had with his father?"

"Maybe once or-

"He never cried on your shoulder?"

"Yeah, but-"

"He never went to your house for comfort after Luke Maybank would hit him?"

"Objection, counsel is badgering the defendant!"

"Sustained," the judge agreed.

"Did Mister Maybank ever showed any signs of physical or emotional abuse?"

"Yes,"

"Can you detail one of them?"

"He would have bruises in his stomach sometimes, or a few scratches on his face,"

"Did you ever think of trying to help Mister Maybank out of his situation?"

"Yes,"

"How?"

"There were times in which I just wanted to call the police so Luke could be brought to justice"

"Why didn't you?"

"Because I knew JJ would hate me for it," you confessed.

"You're saying that Mister Maybank would hate you for helping him out of his situation? That doesn't make any sense to me, if anything I think he would be relieved,"
