"Okay Rashad!! But I already told you if you're gonna be out all night to just shoot me a quick text!!"
"Who the fuck you talking to?!!"
"I'm talking to yo ugly ass!!"
"Keep that same fucking energy when I see you."
"Don't bother! I won't be home! Do you Maniac!"
I hung up and grabbed my purse and headed out the door. London was outside waiting on me.
"Hey Bestie Best." I said as I got in the car.
"Hey." She smiled softly.
"What's wrong?"
"Just been thinking. Nothing too heavy."
"You sure? You know I don't judge."
"I just want Rashad to talk to me."
"I told you he will LoLo. You should know his ass got anger issues and he's stubborn as fuck."
"True. I'm just in my feelings. Let me stop." She chuckled and I smiled. "Where we going?"
"I kinda wanna get a car today? Sick of ubers and asking for rides."
"I know where to take you." She drove off.
"You coming to your man party tonight?"
The party was postponed due to Rashad having an attitude. He was finally throwing it tonight.
"Girl shut the fuck up." I tried not to laugh. "But yeah I'm going."
"How has it been with y'all?"
"He's been at my house. He won't leave but then when he about to leave I don't want him to go. I got issues."
I started cracking up.
"It's not funny Lyric. I don't know what to do. I'm confused."
"You're fighting your feelings for him because you're scared. You gave him your all before and he broke your heart so you're afraid of him doing it again. But your actions show that you're in love with him."
She didn't say anything she just focused on the road so I changed the subject.
"Me and Shad got into it again."
"About what now?"
"When we first got together I told him I know he'll be gone a lot due to the streets and he can't always answer the phone but a simple text is fine especially when he's gone all night. He agreed but he keeps not doing it." I rolled my eyes.
"You don't trust him?"
"It's not that. I fear for his safety. I know shit happens. I been there."
"I understand. Y'all just gotta talk. Hopefully his ass listens. Or you can tell MawMaw that's what I do." She shrugged and I laughed.
