As we arrive at King's Cross Station the panic that I've been pushing away has finally come up. How could this possibly be a good idea. Though we have protection all around us I still grip on to Ginny's hand. We walk through the station as Harry talks with Sirius. "What do you think they're talking about?" I turn my head towards Ginny who asked the question. "Hopefully he's lifting his spirit. Harry has been kind of off since his trial." I just nod my head.
Though Harry has had his fair share of problems this summer, my summer hasn't been that perfect either. Spending all that time stuck in Grimmauld Place really does a number to you, Ms. We easily tried to keep us busy. Ron confessed his feeling for me, but I didn't entirely feel the same way. Fred on the other hand, was a fun experience. Since Ginny and I were the only two girls staying there we really bonded, more than I could ever imagine.
Flashback
The first thing I hear is "Breakfast is ready" then I hear what should be like a herd of elephants running down the stairs at once. I open my door to see Fred, George and Ron run right past my room. But Ron slows down and walks back to my room and says "You coming 'Mione?". "I'll be down in just a moment, don't worry about me." And with that Ron ran down the stairs to get some food.
I walk back into my room and rummage through my pile of clothes. My room has become sort of a mess. I've been in this slump for almost two weeks now, all I do is sit in bed all day and read. I don't want to get up, I don't want to eat, I don't want to do anything. Though being around the Weasley's it's not that easy. I try to put on my best face for them because they don't need to know what I'm going through.
Everything aside I find something to wear and head downstairs, where I see the boys absolutely devouring their food. "Save some for me will ya." I hear Ginny yell as she comes herding into the kitchen. "You should've been here first like Hermione." Fred says with a smile then winks at me. This makes me blush, hard. Though I've never really had a thing for the Weasley boys, I could not deny how undoubtedly attractive they were.
I sit down next to Ron and pick at the one piece of sausage I put onto my plate. Ron leans over to me and whispers "C'mon 'Minor you gotta eat more than that." Though most of the Weasley's don't know about all my problems, Ron does. Which makes everything about ten times harder. I gave him an annoyed look and put a piece of toast on my plate with a sarcastic smile.
The day went by quickly and soon the night had come. All the adults in the house had watched tonight so Fred and George were in charge, imagine that. We decided that it would be a good idea to take out the fire whiskey. In the end, it definitely was not a good idea.
It gets later and later into the night and now we're all sitting in a big circle, I'm in between Ron and Fred. "How about a game of truth or dare?" Ginny says with a sarcastic smile. I look at her and roll my eyes "Sounds like an interesting idea." George says with a concerning large smirk.
"You go first George, ask someone." Ginny says enthusiastically.
"Okay Ron, truth or dare?" George says staring right at Ron.
"Dare of course."
George goes to grab something out of his pocket and pulls out a small candy. "Eat this." He says looking at Fred with a smile.
"Why on earth would I ea-" he was cut off with Fred saying "It's the rules. You chose dare you have to do what he says." Ron looks at me with very worried eyes but takes a bite of the mysterious candy that was given to him. For a second everything is fine, then Ron gets up and runs to the bathroom. "A new product we're trying out. Puking Pastilles." George says with a smirk.
"Okay, I guess I'll go. Hermione, truth or dare?"
I think for a second, what's the worst that could happen. "Dare."
"I dare you to kiss Fred." My face goes white. Now don't get me wrong yes, he is very attractive. But personally he is just not my type. I look at Fred and he just says "It's a dare." I turn to my left and Fred puts his hand on my jaw and bring his lips to mine. They are beautifully soft, more so then I would imagine. He continues to kiss me with a little more force and I begin to kiss back, it starts to get quite heated until I hear the sound of shattered glass.
We both instantly turn our heads to see Ron staring at us with a blank face and a cup of water that was now on the floor.
"YOU KNEW FANCIED HER WHY DID YOU DO THAT" Ron started screaming the most i've ever heard. "Mate calm down it was just a dare." Fred said trying to defend himself. Ron stormed out of the room and I turned to look at Fred. He gave me a smile and whispered in my ear "I didn't think I would enjoy it that much."
We all pile onto the train saying our goodbyes. Though I had gotten close with Ginny this summer, my personality had a major change. I became a lot more quiet and kept to myself most of the time. It was the best way that I was able to cope with what's currently going on.
As we take our seats in an empty compartment Neville finds us and sits as well. "So guys. How was your summer?" he asks in his usual awkward tone. "Just fine." Harry responded very coldly. After that we sat quite the rest of the ride, though Ron and I had to leave to attend the prefects meeting. This made things very awkward because of what had happened this summer.
"So, how's it going?" Ron asked shyly.
"It was nothing Ronald. It was just a one time thing, it's over now."
"It doesn't seem like Fred thinks that." He was referring back to all the flirting that Fred and I did this past summer. It's not my fault that he just has a very flirty personality. We didn't talk after that. Just kept to ourselves and listened to the meeting. I was surprised to see Malfoy there. Their right mind would make that boy perfect, though Dumbledore is getting kind of old.
I look up from playing with the hair-tie in my hands to see grey eyes staring right at me. I almost look away until I see him whisper the word 'Mudblood'. Of course he would, I don't even care at this point. He has used it so many times that it has no meaning to it anymore and like I said before, I changed over the summer. I've just become numb and that kind of stuff just doesn't seem important anymore.
After that the meeting quickly ends and Ron and I begin to head back to the compartment. We are almost there when I hear from behind me "Granger!" I whip my head around to see Malfoy. Just Malfoy no posse following behind him like they usually do.
"What do you want with her, huh?" Ron steps in front of me.
"Woah, watch out weasel. I just wanted to congratulate the girl, who woulda thought they would make her a prefect." he looked at me then winked and continued "Though you Weasley I am honestly surprised about. You would think that with all the praise Dumbledore gives Harry he would be perfect." That was a pure stab at Ron who was always in not only Harry's shadow but also his family's.
I walk up to Malfoy, despite Ron's wishes and look him up and down. "Seems that you've changed over the summer." After that I grabbed Ron and walked off as quickly as I could. As I walk away I can feel those grey eyes burning in the back of my head.
