*This story is sad, general trigger warning. It's dark so yeah. Be careful.*
"Keep your head up." Boscha's sister said aloud confidently. Boscha sat beside her sisters bed. The steady beeping of a clock echoed against the hallow walls. Boscha drew with crayons, her hands patting against the dark wood floor. Her sister smiled and picked her up, Boscha's arms flailed as she was lifted into sky. Their father entered the house. His footsteps beat against the floor like a drum. Boscha's sister quickly kicked her drawings and crayons under the bed and hid Boscha in the closet. But Boscha's little face peeped out from the door crack as their father entered the room. He screamed loud as he smashed bottles against the floor. The clock continued to beep.
"Keep your head up." Boscha's sister said kindly as blood dripped down her face, her skin purple and blue. Boscha held a hand to her mouth as tears dripped down her face. She saw her father closing in. Her sister gave her a tight hug. The beeping of the wall clock was steady like a bomb, waiting to explode.
"Keep your head up." Boscha's sister whispered to her. Boscha swallowed her tears and began telling her sister about her day. The Grudgy game, her new friend Amity, her perfect score on the potions pop-quiz.
But the beeping slowed with her sister's heart, eventually it stopped and Boscha was left beside her sister's hospital bed as tears dripped to the ground.
"Keep your head up." Boscha's father hissed as they stood beside the grave. Boscha's small hands gripping her fathers pant leg. Her eyes darted between the ground and her father. He stood unmoved like a statue, his watch beeped. It was time to leave.
"Keep your head up." Boscha's mother commanded as she fixed her daughters hair. Boscha sat still, looking into the mirror. 2nd place was no longer good enough. Tears welled in her eyes as she promised to do better. Her mother's phone beeped from a message. Boscha watched as her mother slipped out of the house. Leaving her behind with her father.
"Keep your head up." Boscha said quickly beside Amity as they left the locker room. The green haired witch said nothing, her face cast downwards. Boscha looked straight ahead, her chest puffed as they walked. The second place medal's stuffed in their pockets. Their phones beeped, they were late.
"Keep your head up." Boscha said as she stood in front of the mirror. She took a deep breath as she stood still. Her shoulders clenched as she tied her hair. Dark pink strands fell loose onto her face. She frowned as she started again, trying to get it perfect. Her alarm beeped, it was time for school.
"Keep your head up." Boscha said to herself as she read over her exam scores. 98% average.. it wasn't good enough. She walked down the halls and into her next class. The buzzer beeped as Boscha began writing her next exam.
"Keep your head up." Amity sneered at her friend. Blood and tears mixed on the ground as Boscha lifted her head. Her third eye was bruised shut as she struggled to stand. Willow, Gus and Luz stood behind Amity. Scary smiles pointed down at her. Boscha took heavy breaths, in the distance a camera beeped. The photo spread across the school.
"Keep your head up." Boscha's father barked as Boscha sat in a hospital bed, her hands shaking as she tried to drink water. Her head bobbed back and forth as she stared straight ahead. The doctor came and went. He sent her home, the elevator beeped as it took her away. The microwave beeped as Boscha stood in her dinning room. The lights were switched off, no one else was home. No one would be home for a while. Her Father was out drinking, her mother was somewhere...
Boscha stood with the rope in her hands. Her breathing slowed as she tied the rope, her arms shook as she set up the chair."Keep your head up." Whispered the voice of her sister in the back of her mind.
Boscha shook her head, tears streaming down her face as she tried to ignore the voice. Everyone was against her, everyone was laughing at her. Her phone beeped, another tag on Penstagram. The same photo haunting her again and again. Boscha shook her head trying to clear it. Trying to find a reason to keep living
"Keep your head up." Said her sister desperately. Her face melted with concern and love.
Boscha's hands shook, it didn't matter. No one alive would notice if she was gone.
Then the doorbell rang. The unfamiliar sound echoed in her home. The lock clicked and the door creaked open. Light footsteps entered the home. Then keys dropped to the floor. Drowning out the beeps."Boscha?" Skara asked as she got closer, her eyes drawn to the rope. "It's okay. It'll be okay." Skara said softly as she grabbed her friend and pulled her close.
"You don't need to keep your head up, not now."Editors note: This is one of those stories that I hesitate to post. I have written stuff like this before but it is even more dark. This kind of story will be rare.
