• Between two independent clauses. (I love vintage cars, so I collect them.)
• Two separate adjectives. (I am young, dumb, and broke.)
• To set off interjections. (Oops, didn't see you there!)
• To set off appositives. (My daddy, a great daddy, spanks the shit out of me.)
