My mind focused back from the flash back.
That was almost a month ago..already?
Andy looked up at me from the table. His brown hair covering his dark brown eyes. The back of his hair reached the lower part of his neck. He was a skinny guy. Quite a bit taller than me. He had one big scar from his elbow to his thumb.
"So I'm guessing you're around the age of 17?"
"Yeah. That's about right."
There was no way of telling anymore how old I'm turning. I never know when my birthday comes around. When the leaves turn a different color, that's when I add another year to my age."Then that makes two of us. I'm 17 too."
I met Andy around 5 minutes ago. He was running around outside at night lost. I heard the talking from inside the house. So I opened the door and yelled for him to come into the house. One of the walkers was following him and he didn't have any weapons.
"What were you doing out there man?"
"I don't know, taking a fucken daily walk maybe?"
"Sarcasm?"
"No shit. I was trying to find people. And I guess I found you."
"Welp great. I guess it doesn't hurt to have a person to help me."
"I usually go alone."
"Then why the hell were you looking for people?"
He looked down at the floor. He mumbled,
"I don't know what I'm doing.""Say again?"
"Yeah. I'm from a vault. A nearby one. I was in there since this whole thing started. I have no knowledge on how to survive out here."
"What made you leave?"
"The zombies."
"How the fuck did they get into there?"
"Some fuckhead let them in. I escaped threw the back entrance that I found by chance. No one told us that there was a back way. But I found it. Everyone else..."
"Yeah I can guess what happened to the rest of them."
"Yeah."
"I'm sorry."
"Not your fault."
"How'd you get out here?"
"After I escaped I tried hiding. But they found me. So I ran like hell all the way out here."
I looked at his clothes. Nothing he should wear out here.
"Well, there's some clothes next door. You should put them on. They were my dads. They might be a little big on you."
"Ok."
He got up and walked to the door, he looked back at me still sitting down where I was.
"You...coming?""Cant."
"Why? What's wrong?"
"I forgot to mention...my mom died in that house."
"So...?"
I looked back up at him.
"And she's still there.."
"What?"
"Yeah. I couldn't just go and bury her. I couldn't drag her all the way down the stairs. So I left her and went to this house instead."
"She's probably gone by now gray."
"Her bones are still there though."
He looked down at the ground in sympathy for me.
"So you haven't been there since-"
