Harry rushed to the cart that he and his friends always sat in, seeing Hermoine already waiting with a book in her hands, how typical.
__

"Hermoine, you'll never guess who-"

Ron rushed in, "You can't run ahead of me you ass!" He pushed Harry before sitting down with a sigh, "Heya, Hermoine, I'm sorry to tell you this, but you'll not my soulmate, I hope you'll be able to handle this heartbreak,"

Hermoine rolled her eyes, "What a relief, I can't belive both of you have your birthdays before me, it's no fair,"

Harry rolled his eyes, "Can I finish talking now? Or you got something else to add?" Ron shrugged, letting Harry finish talking.

"I know who my soulmate is, you know that cute hufflepuff in our Charms class? She always messes up?" Hermoine nodded.

"You mean Alexa? What a...strange couple,"

"That's what I told him," Ron snickered, "I haven't figured out who mine is yet," He pulled up the bottom of his shirt, showing the words along his side.

"You seriously don't remember who said that?" Hermoine looked up at him.

"Not a clue," Ron leaned back, twirling his wand between his fingers before tucking it behind his ear, red strands of hair falling out of place.

"I'll let you figure that out than, her birthdays around mine and surely she isn't as dense as you," Hermoine teased with a grin.

"Oi! It is a girl, I told Fred it would be, bet him a galleon,"

"You didn't want a guy soulmate?"

"Either or, I was just pulling Freds leg, really," Ron hummed, going silent as three ladies walked into the cart.

Two Hufflepuffs, a Slytherin, and three Gryffindors. The best group of friends to exist.

Alexa Wood was a smart gal who was always happy to lend a hand. She was sweet and kind, and sometimes a little scatterminded. "Your hair looks nice, Alexa," Harry spoke up, his face flushing. Did she have her tattoo yet? Harry wished he knew her birthday.

"Thanks," Half of her hair was in a braided crown around her head, with yellow tiny flowers stuck into the braid. "You know my birthday was last night," she hummed.

"Oh really?" Harry knew that was a dorky response when Ron snorted, only to be elbowed by Hermoine.

"Mhm," Alexa looked down, "I'm glad it was you, Harry," Harrys face flushed slightly when Alexa intwined their hands.

"Uh, same for you," he nodded, looking down, looking out the window, and looking down again.

"Gross, can you guys chill with the lovey dovey stuff?" Esme tightened her green and silver tie, laying her head on Ron's shoulder, her blonde hair splaying beneath her.

"Says the one cuddling with Ron," Alexa shot back, sticking her tongue out.

"Oh, whatever, you forget I'm joining the Quidditch team this year, I'll beat you into a pulp, Wood," Esme wasn't nice. She took a while to get close to people. She was a very affectionate person once you got to know her, and was quite sleepy, currently falling asleep against Ron.

There was a small giggle from besides Hermoine, before Lillian gave both the girls a dissaproving look. "Now, now, calm down, it's much to early for you to be bickering already,"

"Agreed," Hermoine smiled quickly at the Hufflepuff besides her before looking back down at her book.

Lillian was a fifth year just like Esme, they were pretty much polar oppisotes though. Lillian was sweet as sugar, kind and understanding. She was a nerd and honestly probably could've been a Ravenclaw with how smart she is, no wonder she got along so well with Hermoine, almost always by her side.

The six talked and laughed, though people could feel the shifting, with new sixth years and new soulmates being discovered this year would be one to remember.
