Damp, dingy, moldy air hung in the ruins and had a staleness to it upon sucking it in. The main hall was still in tacked and dark but up ahead the hall opened up into the throne room where an old thrown sitting upon a dais covered in tattered rugs with sunlight brushing upon it. The group gazed up at the ceiling, finding the half-broken dome over it.
Maya slowly walked forward with her brother following closely behind and gazed at the dome ceiling, finding it painted like the heavenly sky with a tall women with long glistening brown hair that flowed over her shoulder and well down past her feet. Her skin was pure as snow, her eye gold as the morning sun and she was clad in a semiopaque white tunic that reached only halfway down her thighs. Her hands were stretched out before her, palms facing up, with a globe Terron in one hand and a five-petaled flower in the other. A wreath of golden leaves sat upon her head.
“Morthrina.” Maya breathed, “Goddess-ruler of the Heavens and Mother to all living things.”
“Except for the two legendary dragons.” Agustin mentioned. “According to old tales, they’ve been alive long before man existed.”
“So wouldn’t that make them gods too?” Walter asked.
Agustin shrugged. “It is also said that they manifested during the creation of man. So I don’t know which version is true.”
Maya turned to him. “But they had to be born somehow. Éragore was born from darkness and lightning or so it’s told.”
“Yeah, and has a short fuse like a griffin and the power to destroy an entire city.” Walter added.
Agustin again shrugged and shook his head, not knowing the answer to Maya’s question.
Oliver pointed to a bare, hairy chested man with a full beard and curly red hair wearing only a cloth around his waist. His arms were strong and held a spear and shield. “Her son, Athrose, God of War.”
He pointed to another man who stood by Morthrina. He was also tall but thin built with long golden hair that laid over his shoulders. His eyes were purple and held a strong gaze, his brows where thin and light brown and he was nude. Both of his hands were clasped over the hilt of a golden, winged sword that was pointed downwards in front of him. “And there’s her husband and right-hand man, Titus, Guardian of the Heavens and Gatekeeper of the Underworld.”
Jonah chuckled lightly. “Funny how he’s naked but his son has some clothing.”
Agustin turned to him. “You’re not religious are you?”
“It’s to show his loyalty to Morthrina.” Maya explained. “To show that no other women has laid a hand upon him and that his is only to her and her only.”
“What do you mean by ‘his’?” Jonah asked heedfully.
“His soul,” Maya said, then grin, “and his manhood.”
Jonah frowned. “That’s nice. I hope my future wife will not expect me to be walking around naked and showing my dick to the entire village.”
Oliver patted his shoulder. “Then you better not cheat on her. Ever.”
“AHHHH!” Came a womanly scream along with the sound of a pack dropping to the floor. Oliver, Maya, and Jonah turned towards where the scream came from and found Agustin in the arms of Walter as a rat scurried across the floor.
Walter gave him a deranged look. “What the hell man?! It’s just a rat!” He lowered his arms, dropping the trembling Agustin.
Oliver turned to his sister and lowered his voice. “And this is the guy you want to fall in love with?”
