"I always did enjoy that book, although the way the author conveys the sense of secrecy and privacy helps with the effects of how closed up and frightened the characters are, it is indeed very frustrating for the reader." The words escaped Wynston Shannon's mouth like waves parting from the main body if water. Instantly and beautifully.
Diego's hands brushed up against the spines of the many different covers and editions of the book he was to review a book for their introduction to their teacher. For them to see how they had improved from when he got accepted. It had been a little while since he had sent off his college app, and he had improved massively since then.
"Well, if you're going to read it, then you may as well use my copy. I always feel that the more the book is read, pages folded, sentences underlined, the more it is loved. And the more a book is loved, the more you will impress you English professor. Intro reviews, right?" Wynston questioned to Diego, who was still searching for the perfect condition.
Wynston was sat in the corner of the library, textbooks everywhere, the corner of his pen in the corner of his mouth, removing it every few seconds to sigh, smile and talk.
"Oh, are you talking to me?" Diego asked innocently, turning his position towards him, he hadn't even thought anyone would bother talking to him.
"I don't see anyone else in this little corner of the library," Wynston replied, his tongue running along the curve of his bottom lip, pulling it in for his bite his lip. He lifted his head slightly, in order to get a good look at Diego.
"Oh, sorry. And yes, Stephen Chbosky's The Perks of Being a Wallflower." Diego nodded, feeling quite awkward. He was an independent worker, he didn't need anyone's help.
"Well, lucky for you," Wynston started, placing the text book that was on his lap beside him, on top of yet another text book surrounded him, and stood up. He walked closer to Diego. "I have a spare copy you can borrow. No return dates or loss fees, just a friendly gesture."
"It's fine, I'll just--" Diego started, before being shut up by guy. Diego guessed he must of been slightly older, by a year or two.
"Borrow my copy?" Wynston pleaded. He was quite adamant on Diego borrowing it, he wouldn't give up. "Let me pack up my books, and I'll take you back to my dorm. I'll give you the copy, I can show you what I wrote for my review in my first week here. We can even work on it together."
Wynston smirked slightly, before seeing Diego's reaction.
"Or you could work on it yourself and I could sit there watching?" Wynston chimed in fitfully, and raising his eyebrows. He turned around and picked up his shoulder bag, placing all the text books he was using in them. Once they were packed away, he slung the bag on his shoulder. He have Diego a flirty little smile and walked a few steps in front of him.
He turned around to see Diego stood there, confused about what was happening.
"You coming or not?" Wynston questioned, shrugging his shoulders, already on his way back to his dorm, leaving no choice for Diego but to follow.
