Rei stared at her class in clear boredom.
The sport's festival would be arriving soon and everyone was excited, but Rei, of course. Nothing pleased her other than candy and Todoroki who didn't even like her.
But because of the USJ incident that had happened the other day, a meeting was being held with very few of the UA staff. All Might, Midnight, Vlad, Snipe, and Principal Nezu. And due to certain circumstances, Rei Satomi was allowed to attend. With the experience of fighting the Nomu at the USJ head on.
A police officer, one trusted with All Might's or Yagi's secret was there with the case files of the incident revolving 'The League of Villains,' Rei found it laughable that they only now heard of these guys. But to stay proper she remained silent, sitting next to Vlad. The Officer shifted through the documents in his hand, "The police have investigated the group calling themselves The League of Villains, and there does not appear to be anyone registered with the name of Shigaraki in his 20s or 30s with a Quirk that lets him disintegrate whatever he touches. It's the same with the villain called Kurogiri with the Warp Gate. They are probably not citizens and are using false names."
Rei rolled her eyes and played with her long silky hair, catching the blank stare that Nezu was giving her and huffed, sitting back in her chair.
"In other words, they are people with unregistered Quirks who are part of society's underbelly." The officer, Naomasa Tsukauchi, explains, his monotonous droning made Rei want to curl up in a ball and sleep for years.
Vlad sighed, Rei frowned and laid her head in her arms.
"He's basically saying that you Heroes don't know anything." Rei hummed out, smirking when she and Yagi made eye contact. Snipe scoffed, "Once their ringleader, Shigaraki's gun wounds heal---" Rei interrupted him with a sharp glare, "you kept shooting him."
The gun-based hero sent the pink-haired failed experiment a look under the mask that he wore, before continuing, "when the wounds heal, they'll definitely try again. It'll be a pain."
Yagi looked down at the wooden table joined together.
"Their ringleader, huh?" he mutters. Nezu's innocent expression irritated Rei as the principal looked up at the Number One hero.
"What is it, All Might?" he asks, voice high. Rei lifted her head from her crossed arms, staring at the Symbol of Peace. "That man-child." Rei spits, "he showed that stupid plague off like it was a simple toy. The attack that they did was bold--even you incompetent humans know better to not do it. Shigaraki went on and on about his wild statements like that. Bragging about that Stupid, Pathetic, disgusting Nomu's quirk." Rei sat up in her chair, biting her fingernails that were starting to get long.
Yagi carried on from there, "And when things didn't go his way, he was visibly upset." the blond touched his chin in thought. "Well, the incident with the Quirk was to also force my hand, but..." Yagi trailed off. Nezu raised his hand to speak. All Attention going to him.
"Even so," he starts, "it was foolish to throw away the advantage of having unknown Quirks when fighting against heroes. And when Rei used her quirk, I doubt that any of the Villains were expecting such a destructive power to be used against them." His eyes bore into the horned girl, Rei frowned, gritting her teeth at the not-so nice compliment.
"He made immature, wild statements with a straight face." Yagi comments, "He bragged about his possessions. He thought everything would simply go his way. Adding that to what I saw of him when he carried out the attack, the picture I get of Shigaraki is---"
"A Man-Child?" Rei butts in, her face a void of emotion, she didn't like being in this small meeting room. Especially with people who could kill her with no remorse and carry it out as a simple accident. It was the other way around for the pros as well. Rei would target the easiest person to apprehend first, Naomasa Tsukauchi, then take over his body with her Quirk. Since Aizawa was still recovering, he wouldn't be an option to cancel the girl's quirk in the split second it activates.
Everyone other than Rei shook off their thoughts, carrying on with the task at hand.
Vlad glanced at Rei with blazing ruby-colored eyes, "A child with power?" he questions, unnerved by the information. Midnight turned to him.
"Could it be that he never received the Quirk counseling every child gets in elementary school?" she proposes. Rei hummed, setting her feet up onto the table. "Or that he never got the chance to even get that option if it was too late...when your a child, you turn to your most trusted loved ones in need of help. But if he could denigrate everything he touched at such a young age at Four-years-old..." Rei trailed off.
The topic was discarded.
Snipe changed the subject.
"Well, what does that have to do with anything?" he voices his worries. Although, he seemed rather annoyed than worried. Rei related in a way, other than the fact that he could shoot her in the head with no worries or annoyance, he would call it "a bump in the road." and call it a day.
Tsukauchi lifted the papers up to his face, clearing his throat to get the pros attention.
"There were 69 villains arrested the other day at USJ." Rei scoffed at that statement.
"I would hardly call those villains, only minor inconveniences. I killed three will no problem whatsoever. My Darling froze them to the ground just as easy as trapping little white mice in the middle of a field with no grass." Rei comments lowly, licking her teeth as eyes went to her. "I've seen actual villains that have given me a hard time, they forced me to feed off my precious stamen on a daily basis. If anything," Rei paused and looked at her nails before her dull cyan-mint green eyes snapped up to the officer. "Those were just small-timers, right?" she asks with a growing smirk.
The other pros turned to the officer for confirmation.
He simply nods, "Yes, that is true, but the problem is how they all agreed with that man-child and followed him. In the current environment saturated with heroes, villainous people who have been oppressed may be drawn to that kind of simple-minded evil." Tsukauchi sighed out, Vlad frowned deeper than normal, eyes narrowed viciously as he nodded.
Snipe leaned back in his chair.
"There are plenty of people who don't know what to do with their Quirks." His raspy voice made Rei roll her eyes.
Midnight shifted in her seat, "This is alarming, though..." the sultry tone in her voice disappeared and was replaced with monotone-laced seriousness.
The plain-looking officer flipped through the stack of papers in his hands, "Well," he starts.
"It's thanks to you heroes that we are able to devote ourselves to our investigation. We'll expand our search network and continue to assist in arresting the perpetrators." the stiff-like tone in the officer's words made Rei cross her legs and close her eyes. She would rather be in her lonely cold room than be in this suffocating atmosphere.
Nezu looked down at his paws, "A man-child..." he trails off. Yagi grunts, glancing at him, "In some sense," Nezu's beady eyes bore into Rei once more, "he's like our students."
Rei sat up immediately, glaring at Nezu with harsh malice.
"He still has room to grow." The pros were taken aback, as Rei and Nezu glared into each other's souls, "If there was someone capable backing him, trying to cultivate his malice..."
Yagi turned to Rei as well, eyes softening at the look on her face.
She looked sad.
A sadness that no one else could convey.
With the type of hurt she had gone through.
"I don't want to think about what could happen..." the blond mutters.
