"Hey, luk.. what's wrong with you? You seem off lately. And what's with spending time here?" Ton ask his nephew who he treats as his own son. This is not so Sarawat. Sarawat rarely spend night here. But he is here for a few days already and tonight he gets a chance to talk with his nephew.
"Uhh uncle Ton.. nothing" Sarawat replies short. He continue to look at the sky enjoy the soft breeze of the night.
"Sarawat. If something bother you, you can tell me. You are like my son. Or you feel uncomfortable to share with me" uncle Ton voice soft but somehow there is distant feeling there. At least Sarawat can feel that.
Uncle Ton is father-like figure for Sarawat. He always concern and take care Sarawat the best. Sarawat just being Sarawat who actually didn't really know how to react to his surrounding. But now since he met Tine, some part of his life has changed. Many actually.
He is now more aware people's feeling around him. Especially his love one. Not that he don't care before but now he is more expressive instead of being stoic. When uncle Ton said it like that, he feels like his uncle feels distant with him. Maybe because he rarely open up or didn't give a chance for his uncle to enter his life.
"It is not like that uncle. Hmm.. I.." Sarawat paused, contemplating want to continue about what worrying him or just give some excuses.
Uncle Ton sip a drink from the mug and after that his gaze shift towards him, waiting for him to continue his words.
This actually gives warm feeling to Sarawat. Standing at balcony, looking at the night sightseeing, with soft breeze and accompany by someone who seems as the replacement of his father.. it makes his heart warm inside.
"Tine.." only one word come out from Sarawat after he paused so long. He is fidgeting on his feet while standing there bitting his lower lips.
It is rare sight, uncle Ton think inside.
"Hmm are you guys fighting?" Uncle Ton try to make Sarawat talk more.
Sarawat sighs and shakes his head weakly. He actually didn't know what he is doing now. They don't fight. Tine always good to him. More than good. But what worry him lately about revealation of their relationship.
Say him corward or what. But he actually afraid of how public will accept this. This is ironic since he is the one before who drag Tine into this relationship with him and even promise to Tine that he will protect him. And now what? He is chickened out by himself.
"We are not fighting uncle.. " then sarawat tell the whole story to his uncle from the promise they make to disclose their relationship to the where he feels right now. To think again, he feels like he is some asshole now and he frustrated with himself.
"I understand what you feel now. But when you approach him and start relationship with Tine, do you really not foresee this will happen someday? I mean it is predictable" uncle Ton try to be logical here. He don't want to throw sweet words to his nephew. Sarawat need to know this is the reality they have been living for.
Sarawat thinks there is no wrong at all with his uncle's words. This kind of situation is predictable and at least he knows it very well since he is old in this industry than Tine. Now, he thinks he fucked up for real.
"I just don't want Tine to get hurt. I don't care about myself. I love him so much to care about myself" Sarawat muffles his voice.
"I know you love him so much. I can see it. But what you did here will hurt him more Wat. Now, you avoiding him doesn't help either. What you need to do is always stay beside him. Even your relationship may not be really accepted by netizen later as long as both of you love and have each other, is not that enough? You also have us. Family.." uncle Ton said with smile.
Sarawat's heart sprang by the mention of family. Yeah. He knows both of his and Tine family really supportive towards him and Tine relationship. But he don't know why.
He scares to risky Tine in this. He would not be able to stand if one day Tine could be hurt from all of this. Just thinking about this, make he going insane already.
So, why start all of this if he knows at the end Tine will get hurt by all of this? That's why Sarawat feel terrible now and think he is an asshole for put Tine in this situation.
"Sarawat.." uncle Ton put his hand on his shoulder, make Sarawat glances at his side, his feeling is so messy now.
"In relationship it always take two to work. If you really love him don't let your own judgement destroy what you guys have now. Discuss with Tine. Talk to him. So that he knows your worry and not feeling being left out or ignored. Please think carefully" uncle Ton pat his back for the last time, then he walks away from there.
Sarawat somehow feel a bit relieved after talking to someone about his feeling. But he still don't know how to take this. Should he talks to Tine? Tine must be noticed his behaviour of avoiding him. Ahhh he hate himself for this. But he need time to pull himself out. And find the best solution for them.
Suddenly, he feels drain and tired. He go to washroom and only brush his teeth, too tired to wash his face.
After, he snuggles himself under blanket then he feels like he forgot something but he is too tired and sleepy to think about it. His mind exhausted from the overthinking.
He laughs as he said this to Tine before not to overthink, but now he is experience this himself. This feels like when you eat your own words.
He then snuggles deeper under the blanket and tries to imagine Tine's warm body press to himself when they hug to sleep, not before he makes a mental note to meet Tine's parents tomorrow morning.
