When did the tragedy begin?
Could it all be the children's fault?
Were their sins truly terrible enough to anger the Gods?
Or were they simply the victims of a tragic twist of fate?
The Caring Freya,
So smart, so full of light, so loving towards her siblings...And yet her magic had almost killed them half a dozen times...Her powers were uncontrollable since she was young. Freya was barely six winter old when Esther had to take her to live with aunt Dahlia, before Freya caused the death of one of her siblings. Dahlia tried her best to care for her niece, but no matter how much she lover her darling Freya, Dahlia never wanted to be a mother. Mikael, always stubborn, never stayed too long without visiting his daughter, taking his children to see their lost sister whenever he could.
But Freya's life was never the same. Her powers forced her to be isolated, locked away from the world in her aunt's lonely hut on the top of a dark hill. With time, her family's visits became less often. Her magic was too powerful, too volatile. The other Mikaelsons (especially Mikael) always came home sick or hurt after visiting their dear Freya...
Still, she would always remember the beautiful days, before the awful winds of fate cursed her, when her father took her in his arms and spun her around. The days she played and laughed with her siblings, helping and caring for them as older sisters should. Sometimes, she would hear her father's words in the wind. Ehen he could not visit, Mikael cried for her, cursing the Gods for taking his darling girl from him, forcing her to live so far away. Yet, he also told Freya about her new siblings; the brothers and sister she had to love from afar.
She called and called for him to come get her back, but the wind was not as kind to her. Even if he left a piece of his heart behind whenever he visited her, Mikael never came to take his daughter home. He could not, or it would kill them all.
Yet every night Freya wished upon a star. She swore she would be good, the perfect daughter, the dearest sister...if only she could have her family beside her again...
Did her dream to be reunited with her family brought on the Mikaelsons' downfall?
The Dutiful Finn,
With his quiet dreams and desperate devotion. He might have forgotten to be a good brother, but he always was such a brilliant son.But what of his dreams? He always knew he differed from his brothers, so very full of otherness...so very full of shame for his own heart.
His herbs and potions kept him company as he hid in his little garden. He was always too afraid to be near the others, always terrified they would know his secret. What if they could see through his emotionless expressions? What if they saw into his heart?
He could never let himself be truly happy. That alone would be a mortal sin. But his heart, such a wild beast clawing at the inside of his chest, his heart did not care about gods or sins. Finn's heart, like any other, cared only for love and it was bond to no frivolous mortal law.
And if his heart had fallen so far into the sweet depths of the Earth that it tricked Finn into believing, for a moment, that his love for another man was no sin...then, could anyone truly blaming for kissing the wrong lips?
But, was this Finn's greatest sin?
Was his love what made the Gods' punish his family?
The Responsible Elijah,
So dedicated to his family; always desperately trying to keep the peace. The perfect brother, the favorite son. The one their parents trusted most.
