Part XVIII °*Confession*°

You walked as far as you could from the bustling funfair, from Mingyu more specifically. You couldn't really face him in this state, you hardly contained your tears back in front of him, and you weren't sure you would be able to do it again if you went back there and saw him. You needed some time alone to process the rejection, before being able to work with him on turning human.

Your feet dragged you to the cemetery, you found yourself visiting your deceased mother everytime life wasn't going great, and tonight was one of these times. Though it started out as a great day, you couldn't believe you experienced your first love, first date, and unfortunately first heartbreak all at once. And you couldn't wait to pour your heart out to the only person that would listen to you.

You sniffled a few times as you reached her grave, and hesitantly greeted her.

"Hey mom," you paused, thinking of what to say next, "I never imagined I would be visiting you as a cat in my life." a sad chuckle escaped your lips.

You sat in front of her grave and took deep breaths to calm yourself down, the night breeze making your whiskers sway.

"This week has been a little rough on me, mom," you started, feeling a wave of sadness spread through your chest, you wished you were telling her this while crying in her arms, unfortunately it wasn't possible.

"I'm here again because of Mingyu, but not because of the usual reason, he didn't beat me at school this time. I think, I think I got rejected mom." Your eyes watered once again, "I didn't even know I liked him, I didn't get to enjoy being in love, it happened all too fast and now it's over forever.

And the worst thing in all of this is that I might lose him as a friend too, it took me too long to realize that he was the first and only friend I had before I met Jeonghan and Boo, even if we were fighting all the time, he still had my back. And that breaks me even more."

You slowly curled up next to some flowers for some warmth while still pouring your heart out to your mother, going from how you turned into a cat, to how you wished you made her prouder by staying at the top. Soon, the exhaustion of the past week washed over you all at once,
lulled by the soft night breeze and the singing of crickets, you find yourself slowly falling into the arms of Morpheus.

After Jeonghan and Joshua told him about your feelings towards him, Mingyu didn't get a single moment of rest. He couldn't believe he let you go so easily, and was blaming himself for that especially after acting so defensive when you "asked him out". He was running and checking every alley, looking for you to clear up the misunderstanding.

The night's darkness was making it harder to look thoroughly, he mentaly scolded himself for being a dense airhead. If only he had accepted to go on the Ferris wheel with you, none of this would've happend.

"I'm not sure if people these days are reckless drivers or just heartless." He stopped dead in his tracks after hearing what one of passers-by said.

"I know right, that poor little kitty didn't deserve that fate," their friend replied with a tinge of sadness in their voice,"it must've gotten badly hurt, I hope it's not dead."

Mingyu's blood ran cold in his veins. It couldn't be you they were talking about right? You were with him less than an hour ago, you couldn't have gotten into an accident that fast right? Mingyu wasn't sure if his heart stopped or if it was beating at an abnormal pace, he could care less about the honking cars and angry passers, all he thought about was finding you.
